    I hate to ask this question, but we all know its in the back of our minds. So what happens to this team if we fail to get past the 1st again? Full rebuild mode, trade everybody? Fire the coach? Or do we just pick up the pieces, and try again? There's really no excuses anymore. Everyone is pretty much healthy, the guy that everyone says is the problem isn't playing and we've had more than enough time to learn the system and gain more team chemistry.

    No layups. No excuses. If we get eliminated early again, I expect the landscape to change completely.

    I still think our ultimate goal is to make the run to the championship with Yao, Artest, and Tmac with supporting cast next season. That's what I'm looking for next season regardless of what happens in the playoffs this year. But, things could change and we are always looking to improve our team if the scenario fits. Just have to put our faith in Morey to get it right. He's done a great job so far.

    i would say we hold on to tmac's ending contract (rather than trade it) and shoot for 2010 free agency.

    the rockets will never trade the cash cow yao. there is no point in trading young pieces like brooks, lowry, wafer (need to sign him), and landry. you might see shane get traded for a young player and maybe a pick. kind of like the rafer/lowry trade.

    in 2010 you can try to lure FA's to play with yao, ron, and adelman.

    You don't rebuild a team that has basically been the 2nd best in west the past two years (a couple of games short) Look at the Suns they decided to change their landscape and totally screwed up their team. Same thing with Dallas. If you have a contending team you just put your head down and hope that everything goes your way because you need a little good luck when your trying to win a championship.

    If that happens, do the following:

    (1). trade YAO;
    (2). trade TMAC;
    (3). don't sign Artest;
    (4). fire Adelman;
    (5). layoff GM Daryl Morey;
    (6). force the owner Leslie Alexander to sell the team;
    (7). move Rockets to another city;
    (8). impeach President Obama;
    (9). send Jesus Christ to hell;

    is it supposed to be "pass"? who the hell would flame you on word usage? i was a literature major and i still didnt pay attention to that. in fact i say "past" all the time. Is it incorrect to say " I want to get past the first round"??

    you just blew my mind. and why did you use past instead of "pass" on purpose???

    "Rockets trying to get past the first round"

    "Rockets trying to get pass the first round"

    "Rockets trying to get passed the first round"??

    can't "past"[/B] be used like this??

    adverb
    1 so as to pass from one side of something to the other : large angelfish swim slowly past.
    • used to indicate the lapse of time : a week went past and nothing changed.

    2 at a time later by a specified amount than a particular known hour : we're having speeches in the dining room at half past.

    No sense in thinking this way. I think we've built a solid, well coached ball club that will contend for the next 3 or 4 seasons.

    No way Adelman gets fired under any circumstance. He has done an excellent job with the hand he's been dealt this season. The players have all stepped their game up too. The biggest issues in the offseason will be what to do with Artest, Mcgrady, and Von Wafer.

    Record wise, sure we might have been the 2nd best but we haven't done anything where it counts. So I have a hard time saying we're the 2nd best until we can actually prove something. Difference between us and the Suns and Mavs, both have been pass the first. Mavs even went to the Finals.

    1."Rockets are trying to get past the first round"
    2."Rockets are trying to get pass the first round"
    3."Rockets are trying to get passed the first round"?
    4."Rockets are trying to pass the first round"?
    5."Rockets are trying to past the first round"?

    Well I would give them one more chance:
    1. Resign Artest/Wafer
    2. Add one more solid player for cheap if we need one

    Then keep T-Mac contract, let it expire (maybe he might comeback and actually help us) and for the 2010 Off-Season:
    1. Resign Scola
    2. Sign D-Wade
    3. Draft a first-rounder to backup Yao

    This would be our lineup for the 2010-2011 season:
    PG: Lowry/Brooks
    SG: Wade/Wafer
    SF: Artest/Battier
    PF: Scola/Landry/Hayes
    C: Yao/First-rounder
    Plus a vet and maybe Dorsey and bring over Leunen or Eliyahu or Newley, that would be a great lineup!

    Now some of you might think Wade might not be interested in Houston, but really why wouldn't he?
    He would have a dominant center like he did in Miami when he won a championship (Shaq), two of the top defenders on his team (he is also a top 5 defender), and a very experienced team.

    Whether we get pass the first round or not, I would love to this happen, but I hope we get pass anyway :D
