Steve Francis can get to the rim at will. However as soon as he gets to the cup, he twists, tries a reverse layup, turns his back to the basket and increases the difficulty of the shot.

In his attempts to make SportsCenter's Top Ten Plays, he will shorten his career and is one hard foul from going to the IR.

What happened to getting to the cup and just using a finger roll? When did going into the heart of a defense easier than a open 10-15 foot jumper?

Sometimes it get so frustrating looking at today's NBA!

He's forcing a lot of those shots with the hopes of coming out with a foul, not a basket. If he was on an opposing team, he'd foul Yao out in the first half.

Gooden fouled out. Did this great strategy get anyone else in foul trouble?

How true it is. I don't know whether Steve is a super-star or a super-idiot. He has such great ability to get by his man, yet instead of taking the open jumper he has to run in there and try to jack up a "highlight material" shot over the big men.

After the Memphis game, you really don't know whether to praise him or hate him. If you look at the box scores, yeah he played hell of a game, nice stats, and a beautiful 3 at end of regulation. Yet, if you actually watched the game, it was Steve trying to do way to much that got us down in the first place: trying to break by 3 defenders, shooting wild shots in the lane, traveling.... And you think, o'well, as long as we make it into overtime, Steve can slow things down and get some better shots.... well... maybe another day.

I agree. There's no questioning his althletic ability, but he needs to slow it down and play SMARTER basketball. That's why stats in the box score tell half of story. I had hope his talks with MJ and others this summer would do that. But as of right now, we've only seen flashes of that happening.

Nobody did it better than George Gervin! As for Rockets... Lew Lloyd had a sweet finish, too.

When did a simple layup become an adventure?
