I know everyone thinks that we should try to sign or trade for a PF, and if we could get Wallace or Brand, I'm all for it, but has everyone forgot about the possibility of bringing in Malick Badiane. I mean from what I read and heard about him in the summer league was that he had mad hops and was the first one up and down the court. Meaning he is a hustler. That, and his rebounding and shot blocking abilities were a plus. If we traded Cato + Francis/or Mobley it would free up a lot of money, and Badiane sounds like he can play just like Cato does now. Give Malick another summer to develop a somewhat already decent offensive game and I think that it would help us use that cap space to be in the running for a much better player. i.e. Kobe Bryant. Imagine:

    Yao Ming
    Malick Badiane
    Jim Jackson
    Kobe Bryant
    Eric Snow

Cuttino could come off the bench: Taylor, 'Spoon, Mobley, Pike, Boki, and a decent pg with the MLE.

He has no offense skills since he just started to playing ball. Think Cato with more hops and faster.

Malick is a scrub in Germany right now.

He would be lucky to make the IR next year, let alone become a starter.

Maybe you can pencil in whoever we take with Sactown's 2nd rounder this year as the starter at pf instead.

I hear the weak sisters of the poor might be available in the 2nd round.

    Sign them up!

I have never in my life seen so much discussion about a guy who was drafted in the second round and sent to play in Europe because he didn't have the skill to play in the NBA yet. What's up with that?

Furthermore, didn't he end up still on a European's team developmental team?

My dad just saw Mengke Bateer at Lowe's in Sugar Land.

    I think he's a free agent..

Well Badiane..I think he sucks. He's just an average basketball player in the NBA. I don't think he's ready...no offensive touch right?

I would be very surprised if Badiane ever turns out to be a contributor to any NBA team. I would be mildly surprised if he even just gets to be a 12th man on an NBA team. I don't know why everyone gets their hopes up about this guy.

He is an amazing athlete and still only 20 years old.

I would not be suprised at all if he makes it to the NBA.

Probably not next year, but the following year.
