It was the wierdest injury? as he just lay on the court with his legs spread eagled and made no movements at all for several minutes, like he was paralyzed or something. I don't know if they showed a replay on TV, but the big screen at Compaq was blank with no reruns. Was he unconscious? Just had the wind COMPLETELY knoked out of him, or what? Normally you expect a guy to be writhing in pain or something. It was very strange.

I think he was just in major pain. He did the right thing. Too often people will try to get up and shouldnt.

Think about this: If EG was seriously injured, until time was stopped, the trainer could not get to him. They must've played for about 5 minutes until the Lakers scored and the medical staff checked him out. That's ridiculous. One of the Rockets shouldve quickly fouled to stop the action. Luckilly he looks to be fine.

When Griffin and Derek Fisher fight for the ball, Griffin's back neck collided with Fisher's body very hard. It appears Griffin has sprained back neck. From the TV replay, it sure looks like a painful collision.

The Rockets staff screwed up by letting him back in the game so soon. He clearly was dazed and his play on the court after that showed it.

The replay looked really bad, at first I was wondering if he broke his neck or something. His neck bent way back and to the side farther than it looked like a neck should be able to go.

I'm really glad EG is ok.

I know it was first thought in chat that he had hurt his shoulder maybe.

It is indeed his neck. If you look at the replay, it does not appear that his neck was "compressed", but rather, it, as someone said earlier, snapped back.

So I would assume that EG bascially has a bad case of whiplash and should be ok. :D

PS - Props to Mo Taylor for being able to play big minutes and hold his own. Way to go Mo!

I wouldn't say they screwed up.......come on I'm sure Eddie wanted to play. Think about it he was going up against Samaki Walker at that time I think. It was a big game and if he felt he wasn't ready I'm sure he wouldn't sit out for a while.

Props to the whole team,...I think we are winning like this because we are getting contributions from a vast tap of players. Griffin is so valuable for his defense, but it's good to know that another player off the bench can bring something worthwhile to the table...I think we can now say this fairly consistently at other positions as well..

That play happened right in front of me. It was scary. His head snapped back violently. Some old woman below me was sooo upset that we didn't call time out. I had to explain to her why we couldn't, and she thought that was the stupidest thing.

But like RIET said, we should have fouled.

I'd like to know how he's feeling today but the Chronicle didn't even mention the collision!

With the way he just layed there after the collision, I was afraid that he had suffered a concussion or some kind. Now is the worst possible time for Griffin to be injured. I hope he is okay.

Yes, it was scary. I was thinking the worse
    on a fluke play.

    Glad he's ok.

It was driving me crazy to wait during the
    TV timeout...

What scared me was that when they showed the replay Eddie's head seamed to just slide off of Derek Harpers butt and land on the floor with no visible signs of any muscle control. At first I thought he and Harper just knocked heads diving for the ball but when I saw the replay and Eddie lying there motionless I thought his neck was broke. The way he was just laying their it must have either knocked him out or given him a serious stinger that momentarily paralyzed him.

OMG! what a major slip on my part. Derek Fisher only wishes he could be as good as Derek Harper.

I think that play should have been the true flagrant, since I think Fisher slammed his body to eddie's head in puporse, The F***ing Flop!

EG showed how tough he was to get back on the floor. Not the smartest decision, but a real gutsy one. How many high-priced crappy players do we know that would love to get the chance to come out with an injury and get paid? His toughness showed his dedication to the team and the great mentality on the team right now. Everyone wants to play! How great is that!!!!! :)

I hated seeing that it was so scary just to see him limp on the floor!
Me and my friends were just silent after the slo-mo replay!

    Thank goodness you're ok Eddie!:)
