When Eddie Jones played for L.A., I thought he was one of the most exciting playmakers in the league. He was traded to Charlotte with Eldon Campbell, then later to Miami. He is still a fine player, but has not lived up to the potential I thought he had. Before we traded for Clyde, I wished he was on our team. Instead of Kenny Smith, after Mad Max melted down, Eddie could have been an effective shooting guard. What happened to him? Injuries?
He was known as "Little Game Eddie" in LA, because he supposedly disappeared in the playoffs... I think Lakers fans will agree that Robert Horry has filled in nicely...
Simple: Miami needs a PG. Jones is the kind of shooting G that excels in a secondary role, especially if he has a strong PG in the backcourt with him. He's still a solid player, though.
