I remember growing up in elementary school and always seeing the dunking turbo, he was a main reason why I fell in love with the rockets at the time. He came to perform at our school some day during recess doing all different kinds of dunks....some years later he just disappears? What happened to him?? It would be great if he came back to the rockets this new season
Someone saw him on America's Got Talent or something. Is that a show? I think its a show. You clowns watch anything.
The combination of Turbo and Clutch the bear makes the best mascot team and home show available. Oh, and let me not forget those power dancers, although it is hard for me to explain to my little kids how naked women dancing is family entertainment!
Every 7 or 8 years, they can just hire some other dude to play the role of Turbo. Turbo doesn't need to talk, but just dunk the ball.
The guy in the Bear Costume really can't be replaced... He has a good thing going. Why the hell do you need Turbo? You got Dunking RPDs! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/afkRT5zlZRQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/afkRT5zlZRQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> El Kue.
I can remember the mascot before Turbo, his name was "Booster". My daughter got picked to be his guest during a halftime of a Rocket's game. They gave us 4 tickets right behind the player's bench and let us go into the locker room area for autographs.
The Rockets and Astros have terrible mascots. nothin like a teddy bear and a bunny rabbit to pump up a crowd.
What are you talking about? Yeah Astro's have a bad mascot. The Rockets have the best most gangster mascot in the NBA.
I thought he got let go after he was found selling t-shirts that were not copyrighted?! Another rumor I heard was that Robert actually was the one that told on him and moved into his current position with that shady-backstabbing approach... Rumors of course...
My son went there. On the subject, I read an interview of Clutch's wife about a year ago and apparently both of them know Turbo. She said Turbo gave it up because the toll on his body was just too much. I liked Turbo a lot more than Clutch.
He made his debut during the Suns series in 94 or 95. Forgot which year. I wouldnt be surprised if Clutch did that to Turbo.
