He's not a Rocket and there are no signs that he will ever be a Rocket so whats the point. Plus he has fallin off of the face of the planet somewhere in Minn.

I don't know. I think he's going to use this offseason to show GS next season what they traded.

I still think he has it in him. Give him a chance. He was out of shape, and had lots os players to compete with. Next season, he'll be given his chance.

Well, first off, he was being punished in Golden State for the first 54 games of the season & was traded to Minnesota for the final 28 games. Nesterovic was the starter & the T-Pups were in the stretch run for the playoffs. I'm assuming that Minnesota has a different offensive system for him to learn & didn't want to disrupt their rotation to get Jackson involved.

Basically, those 28 games & the playoffs were a watch & learn time for Jackson. I believe that he's got the talent to perform just like he did his rookie season. I'd love to see the Rockets work a deal for him.

I'd start Jackson over Cato any day of the week. Right, Sane?!? :D

    Right Hottodie.

But surprise surprise, if Jackson was in shape, I'd rather have him than Cato too. Although, if on the same team, I'd start Cato and let MJaxx play big minutes anyway. It keeps Cato workin hard, and we still get the minutes from Jackson.

Second best Center in the WC?

Would the Kings trade even up for Vlade...or Pollard? I doubt it.

Do you really consider MJaxx better than Collins (Utah), Calvin Booth or Jerome James (Sonics), Kandi-man, and/or Dale Davis?

At this point, I'd rather have Borchardt, Marcus, Ely or Stoudamire.

Hot damn! We finally agree on the center issue (Well, sort of). I'd have no problem letting Cato start, as long as Jackson played the majority of the minutes.

There's also a few unrestricted free agent centers out there that might be worth making a run at with part or all of our MCE. They are:

    Bateer (Denver)
Varda (Detroit)-Spent all year on the injured list.
    Willis (Houston)-Can still play.
    Sundov (Indiana)
    Medvedenko (Lakers)
Stepania (Miami)-If he can stay healthy.
    Woods (Minnesota)
    Bountje-Boumtje (Portland)-Very intriguing possibility.
    James (Seattle)
    Collins (Utah)

All the teams they are on, also would have to use their MCE to resign them, with the exception of Sundov (Early Bird rights) & possibly Stepania (not sure about him).

I'm almost positive utah will re-sign Collins. He's obviously part of their future, and they'll pay up for a hard worker, defense first type like him.

About James...I looked at his stats, and he seems VERY VERY VERY injury prone. The good (or bad, depending on how u look at it) news is, he only stopped playing when he fouled out. When he played a lot, he played good.

    Bateer has the same problem.

I dunno. I'm quite content with Griffin and Mo T backing up our C, so there's no argument over minutes. We saw last year that Mo T CAN play C.

Not knowing for sure what your point is, I'm going to assume that you're showing how low Jackson's numbers were this last year.

If that assumption is correct, then let's extrapolate those numbers to what they would be, if he had played for 30 minutes per game. I'm going to use just the Golden State numbers, because he was familiar with their system. When he went to Minnesota, he hadn't played in the last 17 games with GS & had to learn a new system. I'm just going to do the points & rebounds.

    30 mpg

    14.70 ppg
    7.5 rpg

    48 mpg

    23.52 ppg
    12.00 rpg

So, even with the low numbers that you showed & the grief he took from Golden State, if you extend those minutes to starter minutes, they're not bad.

I honestly think he just needs to get into good shape...Lose weight, improve his jump and reaction time....

Any of you think that if we had Jackson at C we would have made the playoffs ?

    No. I highly doubt it.

You guys have to realize that injuries hit us, and hit us hard. Did anyone play 82 games for us this season?

    Maybe T-Mo? Mooch?

I don't know. But that's awful. The way it looked, it doesn't matter who we had, he was going down.
