I just asked a friend the same question 2 or 3 days ago. Troy Murphy was supposed to be one of the top three players this year, and I haven't heard or seen a single mention of him anywhere. Would someone in the know plaese inform.

Troy Murphy is having a solid season at Notre Dame and looks to be a lottery pick this season. Top 3 was pushing it esp in a draft like this one, but Murphy should get a good look by several teams including the Rockets. My main concern was whether or not he would be able to handle the PF position in the NBA, but he has shown that he can do that. Rudy T loves inside-outside type players for this Rockets system that can shoot the three ball, post up and set screens, all of which Murphy provides.

I believe he's 3rd in Division 1 in scoring at the moment. He's very, very likely to be an all-american again.

He's also almost certainly a lottery pick. He hasn't gone anywhere, his game hasn't dropped any.

last night the reporters kept talking about how he's the hardest guy to officiate because he's so physical. I didn't see all of the little things that they were talking about b/c I was trying to work at the same time, but he seems like the definite pf or small c for rudy (if he's 6'10" he's not too small). The guy has game. He can shoot from anywhere on the floor and he's not afraid to mix it up.

He'll probably go before the Rockets pick since the Rockets are about to win 30 straight.

That's odd that I haven't heard anything about him if he's having such a good year.

It is odd. But no sooner than you post this than the guy scores 34. I didn't see the post about him being on ESPN or I would have watched. I haven't seen a box score yet, but I heard on the radio that he scored 34 last night.

You haven't heard much of him because Notre Dame is winning, but not as much as they were expected to. Murphy's stellar, but it looks like alot of his teammates have actually regressed since last year, so he's having to do it all on his own.

My dad's a Notre Dame alum, and has been griping alot about the PG being unable to feed Murphy at times, especially in zones. We (BC) play Notre Dame in a couple weeks, so maybe I'll be able to tell you mroe then [IMG]... of course, since our frontline sucks, he might go nuts [IMG].

Troy Murphy is the one guy I would take in th draft. I'm so sick of all these teams drafting players on potential instead of skill. Murphy is the most skilled player in the country and is a great scorer. Just to throw another name out before he becomes a hot commodity, but Nolan Johnson is lighting up the Big 12 and has great 1-on-1 moves. I know I'm an OU homer, but give this guy a look. He would be a good second round pick. I think he is 6'5 so he would probably be a SG but I don't think he's quick enough to play the 2 in the NBA. Oh well, give him a look.
