Man I'm a die hard tmac fan so it's really tough for me watching players like kobe, pierce,kg and allen in the finals fighting for a championship i mean these are all the players that tmac used to be compared to don't get me wrong tmac had a good season and he definitely showed up in the playoffs but no one is mentioning tmac's name lately this is league is all about kobe, lebron and Kg. So going back to the topic everytime i see highlights of tmac in his orlando i think about if we can see that player again, tmac in his orlando days was unbelievble i even prefer watching him over MJ and i hope I'm not gonna get bashed here but thats my opinion even coaches like carlise used to say stuff like ''He's doing things that most of us have never seen before.'' so I'm asking u guys What goes through your mind when you see this ?
amazing, i wish he could do it now, he team mate are just standing around( maybe a screen here or there but overall doing nothing). Also he is so unlucky.
He destroys the pistons... One difference is his jumpshot.. he swings his legs and thats probably why he has leg injuries and problems these days (because he lands heavily on one leg after he swings his legs)
i really think if McGrady comes back from his surgery with no ailing injuries, we could see a T-MaC similar to this, i mean his whole time in houston there has always been something hurting from the year before...but if he comes back @ 100%, who knows...we could see a MVP next year
i personally don't see much of a difference...look at gm 6 at utah...really his offense is incredible and still is... but with all this dunks, shots, layups, where is the defense on the other end, that's what makes the difference that's what makes kobe and mj so much better... someone should post defensive highlights, then we can compare the two...
In his Orlando days and until the Dallas series the difference between then and now is fatigue. T-Mac would never get tired , he could shut down Dirk and still get 40 , thats why he was attacking more and his jumper was better. When you are fatigued and you have no legs you settle for more jumpers and also make less. IMO he was the best guard in the league when he was in Orlando , it was ridicolous how bad is syupporting cast was and he took them to the playoffs.
He's a smarter, more efficient player now. The only thing he has lost is a little flexibility in his finishes around the hoop because of the back. All the rest of his game is there and then some, as long as he isn't injured.
i love how the entire piston team throws themselves at tracy and he still scores also look he makes free throws in the olden days
The biggest difference I see is that he's not as consistent of a perimeter shooter as he used to be. His 3 pt percentage and FT percentage are the lowest that he's posted in years. I'm not really sure why this is. It could be that he doesn't get the lift he did back when he was younger and healthier, but that doesn't really explain the FT's. He was close to 80% in Orlando. No reason for that to drop. It could be a confidence thing. I hope it's not just a matter of work ethic. Really not sure. His first year in Houston, I thought he was as good as anyone in the league. Hopefully he can get healthy and get back to something close to that level. I think he's now a much better all around player than he was before. He's the past passer and creator this team has. Unfortunately, outside of Yao, few of hte players he's creating for able to do much with the opportunities he provides. If this team found a reliable shooter to put on the floor with him, this would be a vastly improved team.
what goes through my mind is that he said "man it feels good to be out of the 1st round" after the magic were up 3-1.............. and then his team lost the series.
i totally disagree, he's a fairly fundamentally sound player for someone so gifted, he's only flaw is occassional bad shot selection. but the offense runs smoothly through him, never gets steve francis disease (holding the ball too long) never makes bad passes.
um paul pierce only put up 20, 5, 4 this reg. season. he SUCKED for the most part until game 7 v. the cavs and pistons. then he literally didn't show up for game 3 of the finals. he has a great team. when you are on a great team, it's better and easier to win. the only 2 perimeter sg/sf that are better than tmac remain kobe and lebron. pierce had a lot of games to get into his rhythm after sucking for so long, same thing with ray allen, who also sucked until playing the pistons.
You should know by now that no one is going to agree with that. This is a results based world. If Tmac got to the finals people would be questioning whether he's as good as Kobe, since he hasn't gotten out of the first round people question whether he's as good as Ginobli. Either way, Tmac is a much worse player than he was in his younger days. He was a great explosive offensive player, a pretty good defender and he was actually clutch. Now...he's getting predictable on offense, not good on D, and can no longer get to the rack as easy. He has dropped off in every way except passing and he only got minimally better at that because he was so underrated at it before.
I don't like Kobe's personality. But when was Tmac talked in the same level as Kobe? T-Mac hasn't played one single good season since he joined in Rox. His best seasonal FG% is at low 43.1%
Actually most orlando people like T-MAC...he has many franchise records and was supposed to be one of the best players to play the game when he was playing for them...but the GM over there would call him out and refused to get him any decent help. Also i think they asked him to tank a season and he said he just wanted to get traded, also theres that incident he kicked the ball into the crowd twice
