ps2 live vs espn,i know its been discussed but i figured a vote will help, i read about both and it is still a toss up
Any true BAsketball fans/Gamers know that ESPN 2K5 is the best basketball simulation out there... If your not a true basketball fan/gamer NBA LIVE 2005 is for you... It even has the whole new Disney Ice Skating simulation... just but the game and play any type of exibition game... LOL
Live, I love the franchise mode more.... 2k5 is fun for a few games, but IMO it gets boring after a while.
I hope people remember that the thread is "Which game will you get?" and not "Which game is better?"...those threads get so annoying when everyone starts arguing about nothing. That said, just like every year, I will be getting Live 2005.
Well, since there will be no Inside Drive, I'm going for ESPN. I hated last year's but, from what I have seen so far, it looks much improved. I hope at $20 it will be a very good buy. If it is not what I hope, I will get Live.
ESPN, I've been playing this one over live since NBA 2K on Dreamcast and has been great. Plus I hear it's only going to be $20.00.
I'm getting Live...just kidding. Yeah, I'll be getting ESPN. In fact, I got it preordered. It should hopefully be in pretty soon with it shipping tomorrow.
Have yall ever wondered why NBA LIVE starting sucking in 2000? That was the year the game programmers left EA Sports over contract reasons... That same year, those same programmers were hired by VC and Sega Sports to begin on a new game called NBA2K... They took their own game engine and created NBA2K, that same year, EA had to rush to get programmers and engineers for NBA LIVE 2000... HENCE the dropoff of gameplay and graphics in NBA LIVE... It still surprises me that alot of people don't know this... Why do you think that NBA LIVE adds feature that will get boring after a while? they are attempting tomake up for the game play... ESPN has that Kinetic movement for the players based on their height and weight... ANYONE who says that NBA LIVE 2005 has better graphics than ESPN 2K5 ... I'm sure God/Jesus/Allah or whoever u pray to at night will smack you upon your arrival in heaven or hell...
Wow...this is just gonna throw the topic off course as always.. Again, the topic is WHICH GAME WILL YOU GET! It's a simple question that requires no debate because its telling each person's preference. You're not gonna sway anyone's decision by bashing Live, all you're gonna do is make this topic take up 5 pages with pointless arguing about which game is better, and it never solves anything! So what's the point of bashing Live? Don't like it, don't buy it. Simple as that.
I am getting ESPN's game. I started out with that game and enjoy the game play. I like the graphics better and it seems like a better "simulation" game which is what I am more looking for. EA Sports game seems a bit more arcadish and has a lot of gimmicks. And that's fine. I am not taking away from it nor am I slamming those that enjoy it. ESPN's style is what suits my interests.

I wasn't bashing your opinion. Notice I didn't respond to the fact that you said you were getting ESPN 2k5, I was just saying that bashing other people's game preference (ie the comment about God smacking people when they get to heaven) is just gonna drive the thread off topic. I'm fine with 2k series, I just don't prefer it over Live. So lets just get the thread back on topic and end this here.
