Hi All, As of this past weekend what was playing in your PS3? XBOX 360? or DS, Wii? PC. Whatever it is that you play. What games do you enjoy and why. Share your gaming interest with everyone. I recently started Mass Effect , I created the main character in my likeness and I'm about to save the galaxy I enjoy it so far because the graphics are amazing (although pop up sometimes) and you really feel engrossed in the epic story.
wii: mario strikers charged great game, online play is super hard, but my goal is to get to that #1 rank
sad story here, about a week ago I lost the gaming fever that I had since I was a kid, guess I grew up a little.
Ninja gaiden 2, super smash brawl, SF anniversary collection (where you at tinman?), and i still needa beat GTA4 Gonna pickup MGS4 next week. And uh..yobod, you JUST started playing mass effect? wth? didn't you tell me you were going to get it before me? just kidding man.
I'm playing Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. My gaming budget is pretty low right now, so I'm replaying some of the old games until price drops for some PS3 games go into effect and saving my money for this fall's releases. I was thinking about my favorite games from the last generation now that it really is over for that generation. And also how this effects my anticipation of upcoming games on this generation of consoles. 1) Psychonauts - Funniest game of the last generation. Brutal Legend looks to be the funniest on this generation. Tim Shafer is a god. 2) Ratchet and Clank - Insomniac Games has long been my favorite developer. I enjoyed all 4 R & C games on the PS2 (Size Matters doesn't count because it's a PSP port). The first R & C game on the PS3 was a ton of fun. I can't wait to pick up Resistance when it price drops and plan to pick up Resistance 2 the day it goes on sale. 3) Jak and Daxter - I really enjoyed this series a lot, although the racing game was unnecessary. Naughty Dog is another developer I really enjoy. Uncharted was a fun, beautiful game on the PS3, and I'm waiting to see what they'll do next. Uncharted 2 will happen, but I'm waiting to hear about Jak: The Lost Frontier. I think Naughty Dog will make some kind of announcement at E3. 4) Sly Cooper - The first game was a bit like a PS1 game, but the second game is a masterpiece. The third was good but not up to Band of Thieves. I just recently replayed 2 & 3 and had a blast doing so. I cannot wait to play inFAMOUS, the newest release from Sucker Punch. Maybe we'll have a Sly Cooper outing on the PS3. I'd love to see what they would do with all the extra horsepower. 5) Prince of Persia - I enjoyed the Sands of Time trilogy, although the first game had a really, really weak combat system. I'm excited about the new Prince of Persia game for the PS3. I'm fine with art direction (others seem to hate it), and I'm hoping to see some game footage out of E3. 6) Grand Theft Auto\Bully - 4 excellent games from Rock Star. Why so low on my list? I played them through once, completed everything, and I just don't have the stamina to play them again. I got a ton of enjoyment of out of them, but the games above, I have played repeatedly. I look forward to picking up GTA4 when I have 60-80 hours to blow. 7) Metroid - Metroid Prime was such an awesome game. I really didn't expect the transition to 3D to work that well. It was one of the best games I have ever played. The second game was a bit underwhelming with the light and dark theme. The latest Metroid game for the Wii was really underwhelming. Just more of the same and not anything new. I never even finished it. 8) God of War - The first game was awesome, but it gets kind of repetitive by the end. Awesome storyline though. The second game was a masterpiece. I cannot wait to play God of War 3 on the PS3. That will be an event. 9) Resident Evil 4 - Fun game, beautiful graphics, terrible dialogue. I enjoyed this game a lot, spent too many hours beating Professional and getting all the fun guns. I'm looking forward to RE5 footage from E3. 10) Rayman\Beyond Good & Evil - I though the PS2 Rayman games were a ton of light-hearted fun. BG&E was fun, although I didn't think the storyline was as great as advertised. I like Michael Ancel's work, and I'm looking forward to hearing more of BG&E 2, hopefully at this E3. I'm really disappointed that they've turned Rayman into a party game.
I'm hopelessly addicted to World of Warcraft. I'm 2 levels away from having 3 level 70 characters. I enjoy playing, so I can't complain...
Great list Scribo I can't tell you how many hours I put into RE4. I think I beat it 4 times and played all the extra mini games afterwards. I've also beaten RE, RE2 and RE3. I also even attempted to beat RE1 again on the DS but it hasn't aged well and its difficult to go back to the old mechanics after playing RE4. I can't wait till RE5. I don't understand why it's taking them 5 years to transition from RE4 to RE5.
LOL I know, I had a 25% off coupon for Gamestop and I bought it for $25 last week. I also got MGS4 for $39 at Gamecrazy. It was $49 used and I had a coupon for 20%. www.cheapassgamer.com usually has good coupons.
I guess I'm even older....I refuse to purchase a gaming console. Nintendo, XBox, Wii...any of them. I figure if I bought one then I would totally get nothing done around my house, instead of mostly getting nothing done around my house (as it is now). Since I only have a PC to play games on, it makes things sort of limited. Also, I'm into sports games rather than killing/roleplay games, so it makes things even more limited. Good thing I have 8 guitars sitting around the house....
Just finished Assassin's Creed: I loved it. Yeah it might be a bit repetitive but I didn't mind because the world is so detailed and beautiful that I wanted to explore everything anyways. I didn't mind the twist as well, although it might have been better for it to come at the end. Only drawback was the fighting system; much like Sands of Time, I thought the fighting was a bit clunky and unresponsive. Plus I got really annoyed toward the end of the game trying to do counter attacks and instead of finishing enemies off with the blade, he knocks them to the ground (so they can get right back up again). Right now for the Wii I'm trying to finish up Mario Kart...I'm up to the 150cc races and yes it's getting cheaper; you can go from 1st to last in the blink of an eye. Was playing battle mode with my friends over the weekend; damn they missed the mark on that. You ever wonder why game companies change things that were perfect already, just for the sake of change? And for the 360 I just started BioShock...so far it's a good game. The best thing going for it is the atmosphere; reminds me a lot of Doom. Plus, like Assassin's Creed, there's a lot to look at here. I'm not a big fan of the whole Adam thing though...at least not right now. And using the traditional weapons isn't as satisfying as when you're playing true shooters. Plus, like Resident Evil, you kind of have to conserve your ammo a bit, which is a bit of a drag. As you can probably tell, I'm more of the guns blazing Halo-type fps fan.
