Anyone know? He actually looked like he had lots of potential upside, but we never saw it b/c he was traded. What it looks like to me is that he ended up in New York or Milwakee, but i don't know what happened from there . . . ------------------ "Down South is where I stay, switch four lanes, . . . from the Antoine to the MLK, these H-Town boys like to swang and bang" - Mista Madd feat. Yeah, he's on Knicks' payroll (at least for cap reasons). http://www.realgm.com/src_getplayersalaries.php?team1=New+York
I'm pretty sure our good friend Mirsad is back in Turkey. I remember when the Rockets drafted him, my Armenian friend was pissed. ------------------ [This message has been edited by tacoma park legend (edited May 24, 2001).]
I cannot find the link at the moment, but I read an article from Turkey which basically said that Mirsad failed in the NBA and only played 90 minutes (combined) between three teams (HOUSTON, MILWAUKEE & NEW YORK). They also stated that he played pretty bad in his return to Turkey. I hope CD does not make the same mistake with the European Players or ONLY SETTLING FOR SENIORS. I still remember his comments after draft night, bragging about how Mirsad was going to blow away the skeptics with his hustle play. ------------------
Your right about Philadelphia, I dont have that link in front of me - but they did mention 3 NBA teams that Mirsad totalled 90 minutes between. Since he obviosly did not play for Houston, I bet Philly was the other team. ------------------
I was looking forward to seeing him play . . . he was reportedly an excellent 3 point shooter who could run the floor and rebound very well . . . ------------------ "Down South is where I stay, switch four lanes, . . . from the Antoine to the MLK, these H-Town boys like to swang and bang" - Mista Madd feat. If he's anything like Turkoglu....I say we should have kept him! But I think that wasn't the case. ------------------
Yeah, good ol' Mirad Turksan. How could you forget? ------------------ RealGM Gafford Art Artisan Cakes
Wasn't the odd part of the pick that he wasn't even that productive in Europe? What were they thinking? ------------------ A few years back on the Senate floor... I was working abroad when the draft/season occurred. Who is that Mirsad guy? Why did the Rockets say they drafted him? Why didnt he get any playing time at all? ------------------ "I didn't like jr. high when I was there. Why would I want to watch it on tv?" P. Mesku's opinion about "Survivor"
Actually, we didn't give up a first round pick on Turkcan. We just delayed the pick by picking him and then trading him away for another pick. ------------------ The internet is about the free exchange and sale of other people's ideas. - Futurama
Yea...but Rashard Lewis would have been way better than just another first round pick! But hey, at least the Rockets drafted Mobley in the second round. I remember watching that draft, pissed off that they took some guy named Cuttino Mobley?? over Miles Simon, Bibby's backcourt partner in Arizona. Simon went a few picks later and now isn't even in the league anymore, I don't think... ------------------
