now he is a real-estate agent somwhere. i wanna say florida but maybe that's bc i always picture him in a heat outfit.
I don't know THAT much about him either, but I believe he was hyped to be the next Jordan. I think they called him Baby MJ or Jordan or something like that. I think most of that had to do with his athleticism. He didn't do that great in the NBA though. Basically, he's a less hyped and probably a less skilled Lebron that didn't do anything.
There were some very angry board members when the Rockets selected Robert Horry (#11) instead of Mr. Miner (#12 to Miami) in 1992. It seems the Rockets made the right choice.
I was at that draft party in the Summit (I think that was the year). People were booing from the stands, on the floor, and everywhere else. Talk about a stadium full of cussing.
DoD, I said "board members" but there wasn't any board back then. When was the first draft that "cc.com" or clutchcity.net debated picks real time?
You'll have to ask one of the ancients. I've been a Rockets addict since 1979 as a 9 year old, but I didn't know about CC till 1999. I think Clutch started this whole thing back in 1996 or so, so maybe after that.
I think it was around the summer of 1996. That's certainly when I started coming to the site (I was late using the BBS though). The domain name wasn't even clutchcity.com, it was some web space at a university (his sister's?).
yeah, i think it was '96. i first jumped on the ol' CC.com in '97. but anyways..... hasn't SLAM been looking for Miner for years now? it's pretty funny.
I was definitely one of them. I was so mad that the Rockets overlooked Baby Jordan, I was cussing at my TV screen. My wife still laughs at me for that. Two years later, however, my faith in the Rockets front office was solidified.
My Girlfriend went to Bama while Horry was there. She stilll does the Bama intro everyt ime she sees him on the court. "Rooobert Hooryyyyyy!" Someting like that.h
Minor's big accomplishment was winning the slam dunk title two years in a row. I think thats about all he did.
