Where's the "it's way too early to jump to conclusions" option?

    It's the second option.....
No conclusions, just speculation and hope for a possible steal in the draft...

No, it's not. The second option says "Landry's future is nothing more than a reserve forward." That's also a premature conclusion.

I'll go out on a limb and say RA tries to make him like Chris Webber.

considering teams start players with the caliber of chuck hayes, anyone can be a starter. so- eventual starter is my choice.

Based on his skills, style of play and talents, with the right grooming, I see him contributing 20pts-10rbs per game and probably a poor man Amare.

Career backup is Landry's future. He's too small to be effective against bigger PFs who are as athletic. However, Landry will be a solid backup to Scola, especially against most second stringers except those like Maxiell of Detroit and Craig Smith of Minnesota.

I still think we need a young, TALL athletic PF-C as a reserve. If we draft in the +/- 20 range, this kid Serge Ibaka looks very interesting ... raw but interesting in that, with Scola, we would have time to develop him.

He maybe should be given the chance to start this year as SF like Horry. Horry was big enough to play PF which he has played ever since he played with the Lakers but is more like a SF. Landry is not big like Barkley, Thorpe etc. so maybe he could do a good job at SF. Eventually, he will be a starter. No doubt about it even though i haven't seen him in one game but his numbers are promising.

NBA Draft Camp without shoes was 6-7 and 240.

Wrong that was his stats out of college. He seems to have grown a bit.

If he stays with Rockets, he will be the backup center

He doesn't play big enough to ever be an effective starting PF in the NBA. He's a great leaper, and he has a great motor, but he gets pushed around really easily and he can't box out. If he keeps improving and finds his shot, he can be an effective back-up combo forward. He has the quickness and leaping ability to be a decent 3 if he sets his mind to it. But he has to work on his perimeter play to get big minutes, because a large share of them will have to come from the SF position.

That is wrong. Draft camp had him measured at 6'8.5 with shoes and 248lbs.

This was a debate last summer. I don't like using the "high heel sneakers" viewpoint, but that's me.

I'm pretty sure it was 6'7 3/4 without shoes and 248. He's a legit 6'9 in shoes and is taller than both Jason Maxiell and Craig Smith.

He doesn't need to start to be a steal. When I think about what I would like Landry to be, I think Jason Maxiell, Brandon Bass, or Paul Millsapp. If Landry can be like any of those guys then I don't think we could ask anything more of him.

Heck, if Hayes can be an NBA starting forward, why not Landry?
