Rockets fans are brutal. If I were Sengun and asked to work on so many things during the summer, I'd step into Stone's office and demand a trade.
He needs to do a slight retool of his jumper. It looks bad, and it functions badly. It's an absurdly slow release, and it looks like he's wearing 50 pound ankle weights when he's shooting. His form isn't bad but he needs to make some adjustments so he can quicken it and lessen whatever movement he can. This will lead to a higher shooting percentage. Either he or Amen needs to be a threat from outside, and I think Sengun is more likely to get better than Amen.
Sengun is set, he's already polished. Just need get him a better front-court teammate, Jabari soft ass is not cutting it.
I repeat: 1 Attack instantly when he has a mismatch instead of piddling around and surveying the court. It's against his nature to do this but he must change his nature similar to what Yao did. 2 Master the mid-range jumper. When teams give him a set-shot 15-17 footer, he should kill them with it instead of doing a pump fake. 3 Improve FT shooting to at least 80%. 4 Reach 35% from long range. IMO, this isn't as important as many here believe but it's something he needs to work on. Just doing the first two would change how teams defend the Rockets and open up the offense for other players.
his 3 point shot looks great has great form just needs to speed up release accurately if this happens he's 30-12-8 on high efficiency
I wonder if whatever Reed did to get better as a shooter can be replicated and passed on to his team mates. History says no, but it's something I would like to see explored.
Apparently Reed became obsessed with making each shot perfect using this system... https://www.on3.com/teams/kentucky-...mizing-noah-shooting-system-under-john-welch/ It's pretty cool and definitely something TF should invest in.
In order of importance: 1) 3 pointer 2) Free throws 3) Basketball physical improvement (strength, agility, quickness, etc.)
