If this has been mentioned....please lock. Does the Pippen signing by Chicago help us with Posey? Does anyone know if any other teams have shown any interest in him? Can we now have him cheap? ugggg.....I hate the offseason.

Posey is almost back in the fold.

I hope so. And probably cheaper than most of us here on this board have thought.

I feel that Miami will be our biggest adversary to getting Posey. If they lose out on all the big name fa's they were coveting, they could end up offering Posey more than we are willing to pay. We are not out of the woods yet.

Why would they go after Posey when they have Butler and Eddie Jones?

I can't quote sources, but I have heard that they are interested in him. IMO it probably has to do w/Eddie Jones getting older and having a replacement ready. Riley loves defensive minded players. So much so that his main problem w/his teams is their lack of scoring. The heat also want to save cap room for next year if they can't land a big name free agent this year, but would like to add some depth and savy to their team. This would also allow for them to trade Eddie later in the year w/o having to replace him.
