He been kind of quiet on it all.
On the one hand . . I think he likes the attention.
    But.
I think he may not like the players seeming not RESPECTING HIS AUTHORITAH!!

Huh? What authority are the players not respecting?

I think Stern is sitting in his office with a big grin on his face because he is loving every single second of this circus.

Bosh has free advertising from the Rockets and Clutchfans

Stern has free advertising from the process.

All in all I would say it has been a pretty excellent free marketing campaign for the NBA - even on ESPN prime time for a complete one hour special. Blitzing all the newspapers and the internet.

I think he's happy with anything that brings attention to his league but not sure how he feels about possible tampering issues

I think the imbalance of power and player collusion is ruining the league. I wonder if Stern feels the same.

    1. More LeBron jerseys would be sold all over the world regardless of where he goes (he's changing his number so if he stays in Cleveland people will buy the new ones)

    2. A new three-headed monster will come into play and boost ratings up. "It's Kobe and the Lakers versus D'LeBosh! Next on ABC!" "The Old Big Three Celtics versus the New Big Three Heat! Next on ESPN!"

    3. Other teams are still competitive or will still be competitive in the upcoming years. The Jazz gets AK's contract off of their books next year, Cleveland will have caproom to sign SOMEONE, Orlando is still a strong contender in the East, the West will still have the Lakers and emerging teams (i.e. Thunder).

    4. Teams that aren't competitive now will still stay the course but will get more revenue share if the new CBA keeps the revenue sharing from the Luxury Tax stays the same.

The only thing that could make Stern **** in his pants is a lockout. Other than that, I think he's laughing it off.

Why would he want to? MSG sells out even when the Knicks sucked. The Knicks will still have caproom (unless they go on tilt and sign Desmond Mason to $12 mill a year) for next summer to go after Carmelo. Stern don't need to have control over this because the young pups/fans will lap this D'LeBosh team up like there's no tomorrow. It's akin to the same marketing bonanza I witnessed during the Jordan Chicago Bulls era.

Stern is not going to like the idea of LeBron in Miami...it's a number of reasons for that.

Probably happy it raises the attention of the NBA. Probably nervous that the NBA is being reshaped as we speak and he has no control over it.

David Stern cares about rating yes, but this Lebronapalooza has to be pissing off all casual NBA fans and fans that only tune in when its the finals, all-star game, etc... For that reason he has to be frustrated because of the borderline fans that will be turned off by all of this and vow to never watch an NBA game again. And its negative press for the biggest and most marketable star in the league... No he is not happy, no there is nothing he can do about it.

Doesn't matter if it's "bad" attention, it's attention none the less and David Stern loves it.
