What takes you to a place where nothing matters but the activity/whatever? What takes up your thoughts in bed before sleep? For me it's basketball. I love the smell of an indoor court, leather, and the jockstrap of my opponent(no homo.) I love to shut down somebody on defense and blowing by them on offense I love to grab a game changing offensive rebound or an anticipation steal, pushing the ball making someone who hasn't put it in the work play defense. I love to set up a teammate in rhythm in a position to score, making them want to play defense because they will guy the ball. I love taking the heart from the other team, because they know I'm not taking a play off, getting weak side blocks at 5'7" and not saying a damn thing. I love when I've missed 6 shots in a row and my man calls my shot off, off in there scrub. I love taking 1-3 bumps and finishing with a weak hand reverse I love not calling fouls and running back on D to tip a no look I see coming on the break. And I love being looked over at a new place and punishing the team/ particular guy that didn't pick me up because of my size and race(white) or picks up his friends for the dream team, lol. Someone box that guy out, how is he getting so many rebounds? And I love, love when at the beginning of the game you see three reluctant individuals decide who is gonna guard me, all not wanting to, knowing they're gonna have to work on both ends. I'm a completely different person on the court, I'm usually the last guy to get angry or to take something personal off the court. What do you love?
Guitar. I picked it up a couple years ago and I can't put it down. It has become an outlet, an obsession, and its fun as hell.
Cleverly disguised "I'm better than you at basketball post". For me, it's golf, and it just became an obsession this year. Up until this year, I'd play 5 times/year or so. Now, I'll play Friday with co-workers, Saturday with friends, and Sunday by myself or whoever I meet at the clubhouse. I'll go to the range or to the local 9-hole and walk any afternoon that I can get off on time. I'm not very good yet, but I'm getting better.
honestly...not being corny or contrived....my wife. i think she's absolutely amazing. not entirely sure what she's doing with me.....thank God for her poor vision.
- Playing music - yeah, that would be a given with my sig. That include my 4 guitars and my 2 basses... sometimes I just can't decide which one to pick up next. - My house - it's my first house, up in the Heights where I've wanted to be for a while, and it has a man cave where I can make all sorts of noise. - My cat - she provides great companionship, unconditional affection, and constant entertainment.
This changes from time to time. Right now it's riding my motorcycle at high speeds on amazing roads (including Route 66) just outside Chicago. Once I get back to TX in a month I'm sure it'll be something new.
