lot of people on here were skeptical on going after amare. now amare is having a great year avg about 26ppg playing about 36mpg. i just think that morey didn't go after stoudamire enough. these drafts coming up are pretty weak and i'm fed up with building. at some point we need to get a superstar on our team. morey has gotten 0 superstars since he got here. keep drafting b level talent? tired of this shiz...
IIRC the lack of a physical was what kept him from coming here, so you cant say morey didnt pursue him enough or hard enough. He had him. Not sure it matters though...i doubt he would have stayed here.
I disagree. Most of Morey's picks have been productive relative to where they were drafted. We've been pretty good the last several years and that's not a formula for getting superstars in the draft. There's no one else to be had so just hold up until more stars will be moved.
From other discussions on the topic: Injury prone on a team that already had 2 injury prone stars; refused to take a physical; was unwilling to resign in Houston meaning he would be a 3 month rental.
I'm not sure what a 2-month rental of a player means to a team 1 year after. I mean, did you - assuming you are an Astros fan - ponder about Randy Johnson and Carlos Beltran one year after they left the Astros?
melo would have been a rental too. landry didn't do a physical. amare is having a monsterous year. we build a team around injury yao but don't take a chance on a guy like amare?
lol, I remember when Shaq said they would have had to photoshop his picture to make his stuff look much bigger than his hand. Hilarious stuff.
