The smell of fine embered ash, chemicals, and slurry oil as you make your way through Pasadena, Deer Park, and Channelview.

I love that most of the streets run along Cardinal directions. Ever been to LA and tried to get somewhere without GPS or someone who knows their way around? San Antonio has the same problem.

The worst offender of street planning is Boston and the surrounding area. Its a damn spider web of roads and you can be traveling on what you think is the same street for 5 miles yet it changed its name 5 times since you entered that road.

    Boston predates directions.

Boston still has plenty of roads that go North, South, East, and West though...there are times when it's a cluster **** though.

Never lived anywhere else so I can't compare. I lived in the valley for a couple of years as a child and all I could say is Houston> The Valley.

Yeah...Rt 9 ...to Huntington...to Stuart.... I think my GPS gets an IBS attack each time I input a location in Boston.

One way roads in Boston are a complete disaster.

Manhattan is bigger and has more one way roads but everything makes sense. It has a pattern and is intuitively designed. Boston is a complete mess. One way right right right, left, right, left left.... Completely random.

I have seen and driven on a one way road in Boston that does nothing but encircles A SINGLE building. A one way road with a street name around just one building!!! Yeah, that was the most uneventful, short, and a bizarre travel on a single road for me.

Boston's streets are so random because it's such an old city. As someone who lives in Boston, I just use public transportation  no need for a car.

Some of the worst intersections are actually in the suburbs. In areas like North Andover there are some crazy ass 6 way intersections that when you roll up on it for the first time you ARE going to make some sort of mistake.
