    I like:

    - I can come and go whenever I want.
    - I can wear or not wear whatever I want.
    - It's part of my job to surf the Internet all the time.
    - The subsidiary I work at employs six chefs which provide great food around the clock.
    - All drinks are free, including a fantastic automatic machine to provide freshly squeezed orange juice.
    - It's a fun culture, examples: Big screen TV, Playstation 2, Table Soccer games, a pinball game.
    - Pretty girls work here, among them one of Scandinavia's most famous erotic stars (she is the editor for the erotic channel).
    - There is no political correctness. We have a mailing list that's called like a slang word for female genitals in a Scandinavian language. Every male employee is automatically a member of it. They send around dirty stuff on it all day. So this is not only not forbidden like in other companies (I had the idea for this post when I read in the feedback forum that some guy works in a company where they filter the word "sports", wtf), but it's part of the company culture. Recently, it was one of the programmer's birthday and the other guys hired a stripper to strip for him in the office (she undressed him, too). That was at 11 a.m. and I think most people had a lot of fun, including the boss of the company.
    - The company has been voted best company to work for in this country.
    - The company is profitable and very successful (like 60-70 % reach in this country).
    - There are quite often parties where people drink a lot.
    - We are going on a company trip in a couple of weeks with the whole company (~150 people) to the Canary Islands for one week.

    I don't like

    - I think I could earn more money elsewhere and have a better career elsewhere.
    - I feel like I am overqualified for what I do here. The intellectual challenge is minimal.
    - I kind of miss wearing suits to work. It sounds weird, but sometimes it makes me feel like what I do is really not important when I get the impression that I am not taking it seriously myself.
    - It's a geek culture. Although there are a few pretty girls here, most of the people are programmers. Nothing against programmers, but the majority of at least those who work here are not exactly the most entertaining people in the world.
    - I don't speak the language here (although I understand it a bit by now) and I do not intend to really learn it because first of all, I don't like it (always sounds a bit to me as if they were about to throw up when they talk), and secondly, I'd rather spend the time learning Spanish.
    - The pretty girls here are all taken.
    - Since it's a geek culture and the pretty girls are all taken, it negatively affects my desire to be at the company parties.
    - It's damn cold and dark up here in winter, I don't like the climate at all.
    - Everything is expensive.
    - Because I don't speak the language and I am different from most people who work here and I travel a lot, I am not really integrated here.

Overall, I have decided to leave...

Anyway, what about you - how do you like the conditions of where you work. What makes you happy, what makes you unhappy? Are you considering a change? What is most important to you when it comes to choosing where you work?

    - I work for a multi-billion dollar company, but my location and office building has more of a family run atmosphere.

    - Right now while the rest of the U.S. market is down, ours is growing and thriving, which means more bonuses for me and extra job security.

    - Work 8:30/9:00 AM to 5:00PM with a hour and a half lunchbreak, and as many breaks I want to take on any given day.

    - I can surf the internet and post on message boards all I want as long as the work in my office is taken care of. No IT dept., so I can even look at p*rn. :)

    - Have a TV and shelf system radio, and brand new custom built office suit with matching shelves built into the walls of my office to hold all of my Rockets/Astros/Texans/Nascar toys...all paid for by my company.

    - Burn CDs daily when bored.

    - Free lunches with clients at restaurants not named McDonalds...but could still live on Drexlers barbecue week in and week out.

    Dislikes:

    - I HATE working on the East side of town (ship channel area). The scenery is awful, too many moronic 18 wheelers swamping the roads, and it's freaking dirty.

    - Only two weeks of vacation until 2005, and no sick days.

    - Everytime we find a hotty secretary, they bail after 3 months due to stress load and low pay. The fugly ones stay way too long, and talk way too much. I really wish I could find some shut the **** up pills for these skanks.

    - My boss is an Aggie alum.

    - I'd rather stay up all night drinking beer and sleeping late.

    - I hate coffee, hate the smell, and hate hearing my bosses slirp their pond scum in the mornings.

    - 7:00 AM Tuesday meetings BLOW. Especially during football season...Going to bed at halftime of MNF is not cool.

    - I don't have a boss with Kylie Manogues' looks, who wants too use me for sex outside of the office. :(

Tuesdays are the only mornings I have to arrive early for work. I'm a night owl, so I dread the early rise. It really sucks when the Rox have a west coast game on a Monday night and I over indulge in some of Texas' finest (Shiner Bock.)...on accident of course. :)

    - Very cool boss and his boss is cool also. I can call in sick anytime. After weekend projects and late night projects we often work from home the next day or take a day off which doesn't count against vacation.
    - Cool coworkers in my dept.
    - Get to play with new stuff (high end servers, dvd burners, flat screen tv's, etc.)
    - excellent pay, especially for my age.

    Dislikes:

    - boss and his boss are freaking workaholics. Although they don't force me to work over my normal 40hrs I feel bad if I don't try to work more. They are usually in the office by 8am and don't leave until after 6pm and they do work from home.
    - company is not that stable, I don' think they will shutdown tomorrow, but they have been known to layoff 50 people at any given moment.
    - due to the before mentioned reason, we don't always get the best gear. The company that I previously worked for had tons of $$$ but they weren't near as flexible or open minded.
    - although I enjoy what I do sometimes and it can be challenging, I usually get bored. The work can be repetitive. I am not sure if this is what I want to do forever.... Wouldn't mind being a teacher when I get older and don't have so many bills (kids). ;)

-The pay. Nothing to really crow about, but damn good money for a pissant college student like myself.

-No set employee schedule. Kind of like freelancing in a way. If I don't want to work, I don't have to go.

-No ****ing prick customers to deal with.

    -Considerable downtime on some jobs.

    Dislikes:

-Sometimes there just isn't any work to be had, so no money.

-Surprisingly dirty environment. I've come home completely covered in soot/rust/dirt and the stuff can get in your nose.

-Every now and then, there is a really hard job. Not too often though.

-90% of the work is outside, so if it's cold and rainy it sucks.
