I got a flat tire and right now I parked my car at a parking lot of the shopping center and got a ride home. My wrench in the car wasn't the same size as the ones with the bolts in my car so I couldn't get a spare on

How much do you usually say it costs to fix a flat at an dealer? I have a 97 toyota 4 runner btw. There's two autoshops right by the shopping center, so it is it even worth it to put on the spare or should i just drive the car across the street? They weren't open since it was so late when I got the flat.

Lastly, would leaving my card with a flat tired parked damage anything?

It's my second car related question in a month, maybe I'll become the Lil Pun of cars :p

Replace it with the donut tire and drive it home. Take the car to a tire shop, see if you can repair the flat one. If not, buy a pair of new ones.

You want to check if it's repairble, which cost you less than 10 bucks. Brand new one go as high as 200 bucks each.

Why are you posting that in this forum? Well, maybe it's a good idea you got a flat and someone else had to drive you home. :p

Leaving your car with a flat can only damage the tire more, nothing else. Can you jack it up an inch or two so the rim isn't pinching the tire on the ground?

I usually pay $5.00 to get my flats fixed but I don't go to dealers, if you know what I mean. If you have a simple flat tire just go to a hubcap joint and they will take of you really cheap.

Unless the tire is completely shot, a $3 can of fix a flat should be at least enough to get you home.

Put on your spare and take the flat to a tire place. As already mentioned discount tire will patch it for free so long as it can be repaired.

If you dont have a spare you may be stuck with this solution.

I couldn't put on a spare since I made it flat at night and my wrench was the right type for that specific rim.

Guess i should have read your origional post more carefully. Yeah that kind of sucks then. If its completly flat you shouldnt try and drive it at all. It would likely ruin the tire and may end up doing damage to the rim.

Leaving it there overnight is pretty hard on the tire but it may be fine. Not a whole lot you can do right now anyways.

Odd that your wrench doesnt fit though. Im kind of ignorent on the lug nut sizes (thought they were all the same). You have another at home or one you could borrow from a friend? Maybe one of those local shops would have something that would work that you could borrow?

To echo what someone else said. Discount Tire has fixed 3 flats for me in the past few years for free each time. Because of this, when looking for new tires, I always see if they have them in stock before I go looking anywhere else.

Well, I think it's cuz I drive an 4 runner, so the factory standard are 16 inch wheels which the rim and the wrench is the size for in the car. I bought it used from car max, I think they switched the tires out and gave me the 14 inch ones, which is why it wouldn't work. The wrench fits my brothers four runner, but since both of us drove a four runner, we really didn't have a wrench to fix it up. Might go back tommorow, though goodyear's like across the street, might be wiser to just go to them. though I just might change out the spare just so I don't look too desperate when I go up to them.

Also I think the 4 runner has a full size spare, which I might as well as just change it out and buy a new spare, but man it still sucks like hell. There's an old Chinese saying, all things comes thress. Well in the past I got into an accident, ran into a full size frenchwindow and broke my glasses while looking at apartments for next year (yes I'm a clutz in that respect) and then broke a tire because of a huge pothole I can't see at night  Hopefully this is end of my series of unfortunate events.

Discount tire co. is the one i have had good luck with. They are a national chain but they seem to provide great service and prices (close to tirerack online).

You can find closest location here:
    http://dt.know-where.com/DiscountTire/

Id suggest going to the local place to help you get the spare on and patch it (shoudlnt be more than 20 if the tire isnt screwed). If the tire is shot make something up and drive to a discount tire and get it cheaper.

If you can figure out a way to get your spair on without a tire places help id go straight to discount.

Try silicone. Breast confidence is important. I'd suggest starting with a C-cup and then getting some breat enhancement upgrades periodically.

    1. Get a star wrench and keep it in your car. Make sure you have a jack as well.

    2. Go change your tire to the spare.

    3. Check tire. If it's a nail or screw, it's repairable. If it's a gash or a tear in the sidewall, you'll need a new tire.

    4. Take to a shop and ask for a patch, not a plug. Trust me on this one.

    5. Let them remount the tire for you.

How could you not have the right size wrnech in the car? Most cars come with a jack and spade(wrench) mounted in the vehicle...are you sure you didn;t have one the whole time, but couldn't find it?
