First, put your money where you can't get to it. The rest will fall into place. You'll begin getting cheaper.
1. Take my lunch to work also. That's almost $150 per month if a normal lunch costs $7. 2. Carpool. This is the best. We save a lot on parking, gas, and wear and tear on the cars, plus there are fewer oil changes and checkups. 3. Cancelled the sports package on directv, but I'll probably sign up again, I can't keep missing the Astros.
1. Don't eat breakfast 2. Don't eat lunch 3. Don't eat at restaurants 4. Drink water almost exclusively 5. Moved near work (save gas money)
1) I am with Sonny. COUPONS!!!! I make pretty good money. My wife thinks I am just a tight wad. I get so pissed off when she throws away our Sunday paper before grabbing the coupons out for me to cut. Many a fight because of that. With coupons and my Kroger card, I save about $40-$50 twice a month on a $160 grocery bill. Money or no money, $40-$50 is $40-$50. 2) I did ALL of my own auto and household repairs. In fact, in the last 2 years I cant remember hiring anyone to do anything to my house or car. I have saved thousands by doing so. I actually get offended when people come to my door and solicit lawn service. Last time I told the guy "look at my lawn. Now why would I pay you money when you can't make my lawn look as good as I do". 3) Pay off all credit cards before interest hits. I have not paid any interest ($0!!!) in at least 3-4 years. 4) I married a non clothes horse. My wife HATES shopping, especially for clothes.
