I started the RR blog as a couple of people suggested. I am opening it up to suggestions for what you want to see from that. I have tried to concentrate on keeping the recaps to a minimum as those are available in other places, but will expand them if need be.

If you can think of anything you would like to see, please let me know.

Perhaps a new section for the red rowdies in this webpage will be better than going to another site..

I want the Red Rowdies to sing "Wild Thing" when VSpan comes off the bench.

Great idea. But first someone needs to educate VSpan the song is meant to show affection, not a mockery of him.

Agreed. I love the guy. This would really pump up the crowd. Let's do it!

    Can you add pics?

And shouldn't the page be RED, not BLUE? :)

how about organizing some sort of distraction when the opposing team is shooting free throws. instead everyone just cheering throughout the free throw, why not stay quiet right before they're about to shoot and all of a sudden burst into some chaotic scream? if someone could coordinate that, i think it'll be more effective than the usual, if it affects it at all.

I'd love to see the RR get more organized, as far as certain chants, taunts. Obviously you're not going to have grown men jumping up and down a la Duke/UNC/etc. But it would be more beneficial if one of you guys almost assumed control of the bunch and helped lead things. (NOT that Rockets employee.)

    Stuff like:

    1. solid's idea about "wild thing" for Vspan
    2. Jeff-Van-Gundy clap
    3. M-V-P later in the season for Yao/Tmac
    4. Signs meant to distract or draw media attention*

*I haven't been able to watch the games, so I don't know where you guys are in relation to opponents view of you while shooting FT's. Hopefully the Rockets will have balloons for the section every home game, and in due time, have equal, opposite sections on opposing goals. Just stuff to think about.

I'd like to see each Red Rowdie bring a stripper and have her flash the camera when it pans over to them. That's what I'd like to see.....

Unfortunately, the RR aren't directly under the basket... they're several sections up, so it looks like it would be tougher for them to be a big visual distraction during free-throw shooting... :(

Andy, I was thinking you should NOT do game recaps ...as you say that is available elsewhere. I think it would be more interesting to blog your experience as a Rowdy.

For example, last night I thought it was pretty funny when we were booing that guy wearing the SA jersey. Then he pointed to his son who was wearing a Rockets jersey. Later on, when we booed that guy again, his son was giving his own father a thumbs down. My account of that story isn't too interesting but funny things happen to use each game about how we are interacting with the crowd or news coverage or whatever. I think focusing on those types of things would be good to cover in the blog. Basically, talk about anything OTHER THAN the game itself. ;)

Couldn't agree more. Andy, not to discourage you, but doing recap for every game is a huge commitment that few could sustain. Like krosfyah said, it'd be best you would write your personal experience. I'd be an avid reader of your blog.

One night all of you should dress like JVG as a tribute to him for buying the seats.

How about having a kind of game recap of the Rowdies performance. You can start posting what different Rowdies did during the game, Rowdie interviews, personal Rowdie stories. Treat the Rowdies like they are part of the organization.
