We need: To play defense To hustle To play motivated TO RUN A SEMBLANCE OF RA's OFFENSE and not stand around TMac to grow some balls To play defense (repeated for emphasis) To play defense (see above) and last, but certainly not least... a healthy team.
He worked the front office over because he is healing, yet he starts games as if he is 100%. To me he should be coming off the bench if he is not 100%. And complains about not getting enough shots when he refuses to demand the ball during games and gives no effort. This guy is a no leader and is shot mentally with the 1st round exits through out his career it effects his ego and don't expect him to come back 100% and play as superman or anything close because as a athlete he is finished.
Serious Deficiencies apart from No Heart Serious lack of Athleticism in the starting lineup Rafer alston is the worst starting PG in the NBA Ball Movement, Artest although a fan favorite has a horrible shot selection, his offense should be limited to open three point shots, and cuts. Easy Baskets, This team rarely gets easy baskets, probably due to the fact that not even one player on this team can score by himself in the fastbreak. This team really isn't a contender, I'd be happy if they trade T-mac, get some players who produce and lose in the first round again.
TSlack's role needs to be a bench cheerleader. If he can succeed at that, then we should consider using him to fill garbage time. Von Wafer needs to be in the rotation as a starter or a significant backup. AB needs to start and Airballston needs to be a 10 minute backup. Idleman needs to take charge and make some obvious decisions.
We need to give the ball to TMac on every possession and pass it back to him if he passes it. Also, a few seconds before the shot-clock expires, all players (including opponent team's) need to step away from the paint to let TMac have an easy lay-up. That's the only way that can get him back in syn.
Tonight's game just proves to me he is not a leader if he complains about not shooting enough instead of demanding the ball. I'm ready to move on without him. He has had to many injuries to even come remotely close to his 04-05 form and lacks desire to play in the regular season. He has played very good in the playoffs, but yet has proven to play at that level and likes coasting the regular season. Coach should know he should be coming off the bench if he is not 100% and give the starting job to players who work hard and like to play. With the news he will only play 1 of the back to backs for the rest of the season, i don't expect any thing positive to happen this season unless he he traded. Instead of waiting around for this guy to come around i don't think he will ever come around consistently enough to win a championship.
