.sav is an SPSS file. Statistical Package for Social Science.
Normally used by Social Science majors and profs for statistical data farming.

    You need:

A computer that has SPSS for Windows installed (preferably version 6.0 or higher).
A diskette with a SPSS data file on it. A SPSS data file is a data sheet containing both raw data and variable names and is named with the extension ? .sav ? (e.g., module1.sav).
