well, it all started with the Jewish Revolution of 1903. back then there were two sides of the family. many Jews, had one side of the family over on Christmas Eve and the other on Christmas Day.
Christmas Day was tough for gifts for my folks because we always had to go to my grandparent's house either very late on Christmas Eve or very early Christmas Day. There were always a LOT of people there and it was difficult for us to have a family Christmas with just our gifts so we exchanged on Christmas Eve. I've always liked it myself.
