After tonight and if everything stands it will look like we get Joey Dorsey, that means we have 3 young PFs. I am just guessing that we will keep Scola and use Landry as trade bait for maybe a PG or another piece later on. What deals could you see involving Landry and other teams, I also hear that many other teams are very interested in him even with him being a Restricted Free Agent. Does Landry + Head for Kirk Hinrich seem reasonable? What other trade possiblites do you guys see with Landry?

Whatever we do, we still need a 3rd scorer.

I don't get why you guys think that Landry all of a sudden isn't going to be back.

The guy was great. We need him over some unproven rookies.

I would rather keep Carl and watch him get even better.

Yes, teams are buzzing about him, he would be a valuable trade bait. On the inside i really want to see the preinjured carl though :(

Two things need to happen and Carl will be a star and very possibly sixth man of the year in 2009.

    1. Get healthy and get his hops back.
    2. Develop into a 40% 3 point shooter so he can log minutes at the 3.

Landry is the perfect fit for the Adelman offense because he moves without the ball, he's smart, and he has explosive athelticism. All he needs to do is improve his shooting.

Can't you see it? He goes to the corner for the 3. If they play off and he can hit it, ouch. And if the defense denies the pass, back door slamma jamma. We already know he can cut and finish like nobody's business. We already know he can find space. We already know he can hit the 17 footer. All he needs is the 3 ball and his hops back. Everything else is already there.

I think people are being rather optimistic that Dorsey will be a contributor.

That said, Hayes is still a unique talent who gives us something at the 4 even if Dorsey doesn't pan out.

And you certainly have to give something to get something... so if trading Landry lands us an undisputed starter at point, I'm all for it.

Uhhh... last I checked, it's not that easy to just "develop into a 40% 3-point shooter."

Yeah, getting Dorsey can mean we can trade Luther and the Chuckwagon for a decent backup SF or SG

I'm not gonna say he was great........

he's expendable, but I agree that he isn't all of a sudden a lock to be dealt.

    Uhhhh,

when you look at Landry's form and his size..........there is no reason why he can't develop the 3 point shot.

I've been saying it since Landry started lighting teams up with the dunks during last season. A bunch of you flamed me for it but I am very confident he is working on it big time this summer. And if he comes back to town with a decent 3 point shot.........look out.

Why is hitting 40% of 3s something Landry should be working? I rather see him master the mid range game (because he was well on his way last year) and work on moves down low than trying to be Antawn Jamison.

You can't teach a guy to shoot 3s at a 40% clip if he's never attempted even 1 3 per game ever in his life.

we shouldnt trade landry. he provides offense at the 4. dorsey is pure defense and not much else. he's going to rack up quite a few fouls as well, so we need 3 PF's. dorsey will also split minutes at center, so we still need landry
