I crossed over into different cliques. I was in band, so of course I hung out with the "band geeks" although the drummers were always perceived as a little bit cooler than the everyday band geek because we all had long hair (ie. mullets) and ear-rings. But I also hung out with a lot of the football players. I guess because I was such a sports nut and none of my band geek friends were. We all played basketball on the weekends.
The clique that hung out in the high school smoking area....back when high schools had smoking areas!
Wait... your high school HAD a Pickleball team? Did you grow up in Seattle? I played the violin, so I kind of hung with the "classier" orchestra crowd. (we hated the band geeks) I was also in the cynical underacheiving crowd of kids who were in all the honors classes but didn't care. Ah high school. It was a crappy and stupid time.
mc mark, have you not read the Ozzie Guillen thread? http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=114096&page=1&pp=20
Pickeball? I never knew they had HS teams, fun game, I have my Pickleball paddle in my truck under my back seat. I hung out with mainly jocks.
Didn't mean to be offensive. But that is what we were called by everyone. I don't ascribe to using the term in every conversation
I was head of the class I was popular. I was a quarterback I was popular. My mom said I'm a catch I was popular. I was never last picked I got a cheerleader chick.
Ditto. But my sophomore year, they stopped having one, so we just moved the section to a walkway on Maple, and watched for Dugan. Also, there weren't really "cliques" at Bellaire when I was there. I hung out with every group, for the most part.
I hung out with the smart kids, the advanced placement class kids. I wasn't popular, but I had a lot of friends, and they weren't superficial. I loved high school. The social part, at least.
