These are the 4 I am looking at. Leaning toward the Scion since it is new and different. Any other ideas?
Scion = Toyota Toyota = dependable, reliable And unlike other Toyota's, this one actually has style. Plus you can modify it via the dealer to suit your own taste. No having to deal with shady aftermarket products on e-bay or at mom-n-pop shops. Scion TC.....should be a winner by a mile here.....
One more thing, If you are gonna get the Civic and you like the current design, GET IT NOW. The Civic is due for a total redesign in 2006. It will be besed off of this tuner version shown at this year's Chicago Auto Show.
All of those cars are excellent - I would lean toward the Scion ~ it's powered by the same 160 hp 4 cylinder that you find in the base Camry (so it is ultra reliable) and I really like the looks.
Personally, id go with the new redesigned Nissan X-Terra. Cars are to vulnerable in "Truck happy" Texas with all the drunks and crazy drivers out there now. The X-Terra would put you in a safe position on the road and give you off-road capability for those times when you have to exit a traffic clogged freeway via the grassy median. From the practicality standpoint, you would more storage for convenience then any of the cars you mentioned can offer. Trust me, you will need this one day. The design has been modernized and looks way better then any previous X-Terra, whose designs I all hated. This new design looks sweet. But best of all, this sucker now has the VQ line of engines which now produces 260 horses, faster then any of the cars you mentioned. All for a price slightly higher then the cars he's mentioned, in the neighborhood $20,000. With the right interest rate, this vehicle can be had with affordable payments. What's to think about....forget the "rice-rockets" and get an X-Terra....
Personally, I wouldn't go anywhere near those choices. But if I were you, I would go with the Acura first, then the Scion, followed by the Civic. I wouldn't even consider the Mazda unless it was the RX-8, which this is sorely not.
I don't like SUVs. First you say Scion, then you mention the 2006 Civic SI, then X-Terra. You are all over the map.
Well imagine how I was when I went car shopping last year. My former project was a G35 Coupe (I was once a ricer). Got hit by a Drunk driver in a 98 'Burban. From then on, no more cars. There are cars that make me rethink this decision every once in a while. But I go back to my original thought.....the lower you go, the more unsafe it gets in these "truck happy" parts of the nation. I know you dont like SUV's but I would rethink that decision. Even consider a truck, just get off the ground. After much debate and time wasted, I went for my first choice, the "bionic cheetah," the Infi FX45. Its the best of both worlds, part sports car, part SUV. I would highly recommend it to anyone....
Yeah, I like it alot. Once I get out of college (Dec. 2006) I'll probably get rid of my truck and I'll definitely check it out.
That's the main reason why I think its best out of his choices too. You can not go wrong for buying "basically" a Toyota for that price. Usually Toyota's are grossly overpriced due to the rep they get.
