Ok my gf checks this site time to time but she's busy so I think it's safe that she won't read this thread. Her bday is towards the end of the month and I really don't know what to do. I'm a little broke so that's why I'm asking my fellow CFers.

Last year I took her out to dinner and went to see Dave Attel and then just spent the rest of the night together. Although going to another show would be the cheapest probably, I can't do a repeat of last year.

I got her a bracelet for V-day and it cost me a good $120ish from the Galleria. It's a lot for a working student. Also I can't do that again since it just happened this year.

Anyone else know where I can take her or maybe what I can get her that's not too expensive? She's expecting something and I'm out of ideas.

No strip clubs or clubs or any of that.. she's not into that : (

    Anyone?

just cook for her yourself. get some candles. a bottle of wine ( you might want to read this ) and rent a movie from one of those $1 rental machine.
shouldn't cost you more than 50 bucks. and if she thinks you are being cheap about this, she's probably not the girl you want to have a long term relationship with anyway.

    1. Make her a video of you dancing for her
    2. Take her on a nice picnic(but the weather is bad around this time of year)

Number 1 is not a good idea. It could be the new internet sensation if you guys ever break up.

lol. I hope you meant that like I read it. :D

You know, you ought to take her to some of the free places in Houston she might not have been to. A TON of girls I know have never been to the Waterwall or the top of the Williams Tower (if it's still open). Check out the different places in the city that those of us who have lived here don't know about or have forgotten about.

The best thing is that most of 'em are free. =D

It's a bit old, but if you're broke it's probably the way to go.

    Thanks for the tips.

Horseback riding could also depend on the weather, right? Since like someone said it's bad season for that.

My place is really not the prime location for a stay home dinner/movie deal. It's kinda gettow and messy.

I was thinking... would taking her to the museum be corny? I know nothing of museums except for the mummy ones I went to as a kid. Anyways, I still need something else after that or before.. also how much are flowers? Nvm, I'll go to Walmart for that. (damn i hope she doesn't read this)

fyi. Can't post a pic, she'll kill me and the cut my penis off like they did in hostel 2. However I can tell you that she's one of the female posters here.. maybe you can ask her. (if you wanna know, she kinda looks like aishwarya rai) huahaha.

I just went with my girl to the museum and theres a really cool exhibit about gems and crap. Right next to it theres a jewelery exhibit that my gf got a real kick out of. I think its one of the exhibits that is included with the regular admissions price. Another really cool thing was the IMAX, we saw Deep Sea 3D; that was pretty awesome too. Besides that the planetarium was really crappy and most of the exhibits were kinda boring. The Lucy exhibit is pretty cool if she is into learning about that kinda thing.

BTW, you WON'T go wrong by taking her to the children's museum, trust me on this. I was kinda reluctant too, but I had a great time there and i bet ur grl will too.

I took my gf to the melting pot for dessert and had sushi afterwards. But I think that might be out of ur price range though (the dessert alone was like 25 dollars!)

    I hope this helps bro!!!

While I DO love the Museum of Natural Science, this might be a better date location:

Too bad the collection on loan from the Met is gone... That was just incredible. But check out http://www.houstonmuseumdistrict.org/ for some more ideas.

The Menil would be a good choice, and it's free. Plus you could have a nice romantic hand-holding stroll around the grounds.

Then you could take her to a strip club afterwards. ;) :D
