    Yao has to learn himself.

He is the one that needs to adjust.

Also, if someone jumps into him and they are going to call that crap, he should come down HARD on that person jumping into him...make him pay for that decision.

Right on, should play like Shaq, slam the guy to the floor, if it is career-ending, let it be.

Good point. Is Yao willing to do it?

Let's wait and see. One year, two years, or never?

Yao has to realize that if there's a collision at the basket and Yao is inside the circle, a foul is almost always going to be called. Even if Yao is just satnding there. When there's a collision, the officials are almost forced into making a call.

Yeah, right, he should play like a Sissy, let other players jump into you and then you are called a foul.

The right way is to intimidate the other players from challenging you. Foul hard, take the guy out of the game, play like a thug, sooner or later, nobody will challenge you unless it is a playoff game.

Yao has to do this intentionally for once, the first time is the most difficult, the more he does it, the more he will justify his action.

That circle has to go, it is causing people to just jump into players.

Let the refs decide offensive fouls, regardless of how close the player is to the basket.

A lot of those calls weren't that bad, Yao is just too damn slow to react and then gets in trouble when he finally gets around to it. It's getting a little ridiculous how often the refs get blamed for Yao's stupid, clumsy, slow play...I'm mean, cmon, how freaking often do you have to tell a professional basketball player to keep your arms up and not reach when playing D or keep the ball up to protect it on offense? It's like Yao hasn't learned crap in 3 years and it's getting worse and worse.

You can't blame all the fouls on the refs though. Sure, guys jumping into Yao isn't his fault and shouldn't be called. However, he has to stop going over people's backs for rebounds and stop pushing the players that get around him.

The refs are part of Yao's problems, but he also makes poor decisions. If he doesn't make stupid fouls we'll see less poopy faces from Yao.

Agreed. They need to put a shock collar on Yao during practice and every time he reaches or brings the ball down he gets 1000 volts to the jugular. :D

I don't mind the over the back calls, that means he is aggressively playing the game and going for the ball.

I DO mind the tenative calls where he sort of challenges, then decides not to, but it is too late...and fouls anyway...meekly.

Those are the ones I mind...heck, I would not care if he fouled out in 12 minutes if he just played HARD all those minutes and was aggressive on both ends of the floor.

It is his tenative behaviour that is giving him the most problem.

I hate the jumping into fo folx crap . . .
It is like the calling a time out in the air running out of bounds

It is a smart thing to do
    but
detracts from my sense of competition
or right . i dunno just seems cheesy and weak
