Hayes. His only purpose should be a situational defender, in case someone like Garnett or Aldridge is on fire.

Hill should back up Scola, while Miller backs up Yao.

Hayes or Miller depending on matchups.

It should be Hayes, but we all know Adelman would start Hayes even if we had Kareem Adbul Olajuwon on the bench... half way kidding here but if this is the case its time for Les Alexander and Morey to step in and micromanage an old, stubborn, burnt out coach.

Its really a choice between Hayes and Miller...as far as I'm concern.

Problem here is they are the complete opposites of each other. Unfortunately we need both of those extremes.

    I can't decide now.

This is the correct answer, in my opinion.

Miller shouldn't get much PT against the quicker guys, and Hayes should be limited to spot PF minutes against a team with multiple 7-footers.

I think Hill should be used interchangeably as a center or a power forward, depending on the team we're playing. So far he's been used as strictly a center - at least until last night - but that seems to have created a problem with getting him into rhythm, at least when Yao's around.

Yao's got his minute limit, but he gets those ~21 minutes regardless. Then you have Hill and Miller being thrown in there randomly on an Adelman whim or a matchup-driven requisite.

I know it's a small sample size - and that sample comes from very early in the season - but the on again-off again Jordan Hill/Brad Miller show made them both look very out of sync.

    Ehh....

I much rather have Hayes than Miller.

At least Hayes is a good low post defender.

    What exactly does Miller do?

In a perfect world, Hill would be getting the bulk of minutes at PF-C.

Can't hurt and the way he's playing, it might raise his trade stock or a better, 30+ minutes a game.

I thought he played well last night. 12, 6, 4 in 20 mins.

Jordan Hill is the only two way big on our team other than Yao. Until last night, Adelman insisted on playing him at the center spot. He never seemed comfortable there and as DallasThomas so eloquently pointed out, both he and Miller became out of sync.

In an ideal world, Hill will get most of his minutes at the 4 spot with some at the 5. He needs to play with Yao on the floor as much as possible in my opinion. Once Adelman starts doing this, our front court production will likely spike up.

Off topic - I really want to see Miller and Hill on the court at the same time more often. I know it was against a pretty weak front court but they performed well together.

Really, there will be a gradual process of Hill taking minutes away from Miller, and to a lesser extent, Scola. Hill is close to having 20 minutes a game now; I can see him eventually taking 20 minutes a game at center, and another 12 at PF.

Hits shots. Makes like a cactus when teams drive the lane. Oh and leads team in +/- by far.
