So what are your current NBA power rankings? Here are mine. Tier 1-NBA Finals Favorites 1) Lakers-Defending Champs 2) Heat-Three Amigos Tier 2-Contenders, but they will not beat the Lakers or Heat. 3) Magic-Other teams have gotten weaker, Magic are the same. 4) Thunder-Team continues to develop. The youngsters are improving their defense. Aldrich will help with the interior defense. Durant is a top 5 player. 5) Blazers-Juwan Curse is gone. If their injured roster can play 20 more games than last season, it will push them into the top 4. Tier 3-They are in the playoffs, but will they make it to the semi-finals? 7) Suns-Lost Stoudemire. Nash is still a difference maker. 8) Mavericks-No major changes, Playoff flop as usual. 9) Bulls-Boozer and Brewer will help alot. If Thibs doesn't alienate his players, this team will have championship level defense. Who knows if they will have an offense, though? 10) Bucks-Bogut comes back. Jennings improves more. Sanders is draft steal. 11) Rockets-The team will struggle. It may take half a season for Yao to get acclimated. 12) Nuggets-Kenyon Martin is recovering from knee surgery. 13) Celtics-Big 3 is dead. It's now a big 2 with Pierce and rising star Rondo. Tier 4-On the bubble to make the playoffs. 14) Spurs-Duncan is going downhill. Pops is still a great coach. Splitter will take the starting spot from McDyess. Blair and Hill continue to improve. 15) Hawks-resigned JJ. New coach. 16) 76ers-Doug Collins replaces Eddie Jordan. One of the most underrated moves in the offseason. Eddie was in over his head. Turner won't make an impact until after the All-Star break. 17) Jazz-Lost Boozer, Brewer, and Korver. Jefferson is injury prone and worse than Boozer. Raja Bell is over the hill. 18) Hornets-If CP3 is gone, Collison won't be enough to make up for the loss. They are mediocre. 19) Grizzlies-Gasol continues to improve. They still don't play D. They are a darkhorse candidate to make the playoffs. Tier 5-Lottery lovin' and rising stars. 20) Wizards-John Wall is an impact player. He will keep the big man(Javal McGee) happy. 21) Kings-Tyreke continues to improve. They have a strong front court. Cousins will impact the game, but can he keep the weight off and stay healthy? 22) Clippers-Blake Griffin and Kaman gives them a good frontcourt, but it's not elite. Del Negro as the new coach is a mystery. 23) Knicks-Golden State Warriors of the East. Picked up Stoudemire, Felton, and Randolph. Will anybody on their team play D? 24) Bobcats-All defense, but not much else. They lost Chandler and Felton. 25) Nets-Favors and Lopez make a nice frontcourt tandem. The backcourt sucks. Tier 6-No Hope 26-30 in no particular order. Pacers-I don't know much about them. Raptors-Bargnani and Andersen, the poor man's Bargnani. Timberwolves-How many PGs do they need? When will they get some swingmen and centers? Warriors-Other lottery teams got better. Warriors will regret drafting Udoh. Cavaliers-Byron Scott can't save this team.
Six comes between five and seven. Brush up on your statistical knowledge before making a thread like this.
In 2008-09, Suns had a .580 record post-all-star break(no Stoudemire) and a 0.549 record(with Stoudemire). In 2005-06, Suns had a 0.659 record with Stoudemire out for almost the whole season.
This, but it is his first year, i'd expect he'll probably be the best power forward in the nba by year 3 though.

The motha-Frigging blazers in tier 2?!?!? You're crazy The celtics I think should be higher than the suns and us trailing them. Just look at what we accomplished last year minus Yao. The team will play better, ya know build some chemistry. Why we'll be better than last year disregarding Yao: -Lowry healthy (his late ankle sprain in the season did cost us a couple games) -The addition and bonding amongst the team with arrivals Martin and Hill, Martin a some what consistent scorer and Hill a guy who can sub in for Scola and not have us lose any efficiency -Chuck Hayes will not be playing post (no matter how much I like him as a player and a fan favorite that he sorta is) -( This one isn't really a concrete reason but the potential of a mid season trade for: Cp3, Iggy, Granger etc- can really push the rockets to do better - Brooks is like Wine, getting better with age - Brad Miller helps us in the C position even if Yao needs time to aclamaite
