I think he will be a 15 pt. 9 reb. 3 block player for his career. I think that will be extremely good for him. I want him to average something like 25 pts. 13 reb. and 5 blocks like everyone else, but I don't think he will be as effective in the NBA as he was in the CBA. I hope I'm wrong just a little bit. But do ya'll agree with these stats, and would you consider these stats a success or the second coming of Bradley? In other words another #1 bust or a good return on the first pick in the draft?
Its off the subject, but am I the only one on here that thinks Continental Basketball Association instead of Chinese Basketball Association when you see CBA in a Yao post? I find myself having to do a double take sometimes.
Those numbers sound right. But remember that some nights he will get 25/15/5. And others only 10/7/2. It just depends. The one that that I'm most exited about is his FG%. Greater than 65%! That's what I'm hoping for. 7-10 (shooting) 8-12 6-7 4-6 3-3 Accuracy!
Are you talking about career stats? It'd be hard to guesstimate ...... I expect Yao's first year to be something like 12pts, 8rbs, 2blks ...... career-wise, my wild guess is 19pts, 11rbs, 3.5blks.
Cacatecus:- Was that your wish or an educated estimate? It sounds, if you are right, that Rudy T and CD have made a big mistake on our #1 pick! I understood that they picked a future great that could revolutionise the Center position!
Yao's First Year 11.7 PPG 7.4 REB 2.29 BLK Yao Career 18.5 PPG 11.7 RPG 3.63 BLK OR he can be the largest BUST in Rockets history. hopefully he can match or come close to those Stats P.S. Sorry I didn't see Rocketability's Post Also Yetti I would be happy if Yao put up those numbers like a healthy Alonzo Mourning
WHY has my post been removed from this thread? Is it because I mentioned Steve Francis? If one can't, in non inflamatory English, express a concern, because you are concerned, then this Forum is refusing to let its members express themselves . You are not doing this in a fair manner for all.Unfair editing if this is the case!! Why were my smiles removed from my second post in this thread?
I think he will be surprisingly dominant. He will astound us with his shooting percentages, amaze us with his blocks, and average a double-double. If he was the right pick, he will make a huge difference from the beginning and will only get better from there. THIS KID IS BIG, SKILLED, AND SMART!
If healthy, I expect him to have a number of years at 25 ppg, 10+ rpg and 3bg. With a shot as sweet as his, anything less would be wasting his talent. The scary part is that he would only need 15 shots per game to get those kind of numbers.
You know, we keep worrying about Yao fouling out this year (and it will probably be true, at least in the first half of the season), but I think he's going to draw a LOT of fouls himself. He's going to have guys wacking him left and right if he shoots with anything near the % he's had so far in his career. I can't recall the numbers, but isn't he money from the line?
I expect Yao's career stats to be probably 16 pts, 9 boards, 3.5 blocks, something like that. If he didn't have to abuse his body by playing 12 months out of the year, every other year, he'd get more minutes and bigger numbers. Not that I'd be sad if he got the #'s I mentioned.
