"Two Hearts Beat as One" "New Year's Day" "Sunday Bloody Sunday" "Desire" "Where the Streets Have No Name" "One" As you can tell, my favorite U2 album is "War"
The one where Bono sings, "in the naaaaame of love... etc." and The Edge plays all those great chords. Can't remember the name, but it's a great song. After you all stop laughing, perhaps someone will tell me which song it is and which album it's from. Thank you. Your friend, Fixated on the '60's.
Pride (In the Name of Love) When Love Comes to Town New Year's Day Sunday Bloody Sunday I Will Follow Gloria Two Hearts Beat as One Where the Streets Have No Names I've been listening to them a lot lately.
Thanks, Traj. Are they on the same album? I'm going to celebrate CD prices going down with a purchase and I want to get the U2 album that has those songs on it. I like the ones I recognize. Or should I get a "best of"? I generally like the original records better than collections. You get more of a sense of what the artists are trying to convey at that moment in time. I'm not trying to be silly. (well, I was a little few minutes ago)
Wire I Will Follow 40 Electric Co The Unforgettable Fire I got phased out of U2 after The Joshua Tree, but I really liked their latest album. No preaching, just good songs.
Ah, dude. Good thread. I'd have to include *all* of The Joshua Tree. Probably the best all-around album of the last 20 years. It's 16 years old (!), sounds brand-new, and I can listen to it all day.

One of the best things about U2 is that practically all of their songs are cherishable. A list of all their recordings except boy would do it for me. Boy is alright but not in the same class as their later stuff. October is actually my favorite album although I believe Joshua Tree and Achtung to be two of the best five albums ever.
