What are your best times, ever (and be honest!) in the following track events: 100m dash 400m dash 800m run Mile run If you want to include the 200m, 110 hurdles, or other track running events, feel free to do so. As for me, here are my best times: 100m dash - 11.26 seconds (done my senior year in high school) 400m dash - 52 seconds (also done my senior year in high school) 800m run - 2:28 (done my freshman year in school and the only time I was officially timed running this event) Mile run - 5:25 (done my sophomore year in high school) Looking back, if I had been more serious and not so lazy as well as I had a better diet, I could have walked on for track in college. Now I am almost 30 years old, and I doubt that I could run a mile under 7 minutes.
Sorry...I wasn't a track kind of guy. I threw some discus and was pretty good at it. Looking back, if i had worked a little bit, I could've done pretty good.
I used to run a mile in seven minutes everyday....we went through 3 pregnancies and I havent ran the same since.
14.02, but that was only good enough for 3rd in district. We had some serious hurdle competition in my district for a number of years. I also cleared 6' 8" in the high jump, but alas, that too was only good enough for 3rd in district. So close to making it to a regional meet, but yet so far.
All I know is that three times in my life, I've run three miles in 18 minutes. A buddy of mine (hatershaker...he never posts) and I got an MIP at a Katy football game in Klein. Since it was during a school event and it was a Klein I.S.D. cop that caught us, they reported it to our school. We were given five days I.S.S. (in-school suspension). Our basketball coach decided that we had to make up the five days of basketball practice we missed. Surprisingly, three of those five days consisted of running three miles in 18 minutes. If we didn't make it, we had to do it all again. I'm pretty sure the assistant coach gave us a couple of seconds leeway, but not too much. Keep in mind, this was in early September. As bad as that was, that wasn't the worst. The other two days, we had to stand underneath the basket while our coach stood at the free throw line with two basketballs. He'd roll one to one side of the paint and we had to shuffle over, grab the ball, and make a crisp pass back to the coach. As we grabbed the ball, he'd roll the other ball to the other side of the paint. This went on for 60 seconds. If we made a bad throw, crossed our legs, or a ball got past us, the 60 seconds would restart. After the 60 seconds, we had to run up and down the court 6 times in under 60 seconds. Repeat four times. Absolutely horrible.
14.02 is extremely good. Anybody that gets close to running below 14 is really fast. Hmmm...how long is that ago?
Minor in Possession (of alcohol). The funniest part about the story is that we bought the alcohol at some place off of Gessner on the way to Klein. When we got to the game, we chugged a bunch of stuff (we were stupid high school kids) and were pretty much drunk during the game. We were ok afterwards when he pulled us over, but there were tons of empty bottles in the car. The cop told this to our principal, but we denied it vehemently, to both the principal and our parents. This is how scary my Mom could be...she called the cop, and had him call our principal and "admit" there were no empty bottles in the car!
I was a damn good hurdler. It was my only event since 7th grade. But I had a teammate was was very good as well, plus there were two guys from Brookshire who could break 14, and one from Dickinson who was good as well. This all in the 80-81 seasons.
well i can't remember being timed in any of those since like 6th grade (9 years ago) but i'm sure i would have bad times in all of them. there's no two ways about it, i'm slow. my best mile on the track at gregory is 7:46 (though that track is either shorter than the 1/7 of a mile it says or just really fast b/c i can't even come close to that on a treadmill). i've also run 7:47 (damn people got in my way right at the end or i could've had my best time ever). my proudest running moment was probably when i ran 6 miles and i did the 6th mile in 9 minutes. i almost couldn't move afterward, but i was proud.
Im fat and slow. My best mile time was in like 7th grade(3 or 4 years ago , also the last time I ran it), it was like 7:18. I run the 40 in 5.6. This summer I'm gonna work on getting it down to about 5.1-5.3. This will help me a lot in football.
Shot and discus here. The coaches used to make us "fat guys" run a mile every day after school. We used to fantasize about clotheslining some of the track wussies as they came whipping by...
I did shot and disc in 7th grade. I didnt make it to any of the track meets, since they only took 3 people, so I didn't try out the next year.
i only have yard times 100--don't remember, wasn't timed much 440--61.something never did it at a meet, that was a cross country practice interval time 880--2:12...I think...again, not timed after 8th grade. 1 mile: ok, this was my race. 5:03 in 8th grade 4:55 in 9th not time in 10th grade due to playing tennis 4:56 in 11th grade timed in tennis practice 4:51 in 12th grade timed in tennis practice best ever though was age 19, 4:28 timed while in the Army at an base meet.
HFS!! Now that I think about it, after meeting you, you do look like you would kick ass in the mile or any other distance race, HP.
