Blah blah love, blah blah family. Every single year with that crap. Everybody's thankful for their families! We get it! I want to know what you guys are really glad to have that might surprise other people. I, for example, am thankful for the good old U.S.A.'s fantastic interstate highway system. What about you? I love my family too. I meant no disrespect to anyone.
The Houston Rockets! Thank you so much for giving them to me, I dont know what I would do if I had to root for the fakers
Agreed, I just finished watching their restored DVD of The Third Man. They really make those old movies look and sound good.
You can find them on Ebay for around $25 or so. I wish that i could afford to buy them but I think their high price is due to the lower overall demad in relation to the high restoration costs. Fortunatly my local blockbuster has a fairly good selection of Criterion DVD's for some reason (I think im the only one who rents them).
Is that in Houston? If so, which one? I haven't been to a Blockbuster in forever, but I definitely would if I could get my hands on some Criterions. I was going to buy 8 1/2, but I haven't seen it and $35 is too much to risk...
No, I live in Baton Rouge, LA. If we have them here there must be one in Houson that has a good Criterion selection. I still havent seen 8 1/2 yet since i dont really want to watch it on VHS. I completly agree about not paying $35 for a movie you havnt seen.
thankful that i can still eat a lot of crap and still be in tip top shape (b-ball helps a little). thankful that my temper is gradually becoming more tame. thankful that i've been to a lot of foreign countries at my age. thankful that yao didn't knock mobley's arse to the ground although he deserved it after fumbling the rebound (let the big men get the boards damnit!)
I buy Criterions from Deep Discount DVD for around $29 a lot of the time. I still isn't cheap, but it's better than at some place like Border's or Best Buy. Fry's will sometimes have 'em cheaper, too. I don't have many Criterions (maybe 10, I think), but they are all very well put together discs. Of course, if you just want to see the movie, there's a cheaper version of 8 1/2 available on DVD with no extras. Goes for $15. I've seen it at Best Buy. My Blockbuster here in Plano has some Criterions, too, for the record. As for what I'm thankful for, I'm thankful for lots of stuff. So, I'll just go with South Park.
Oh, and I'd really be thankful if I could afford this: The 1963 Lincoln Continental convertible. But since I can't afford it, I'm thankful they built such a fine automobile and that such good examples are still on the road today.
the insurmountable awesomeness of IRC channel #houstonrockets on webnet. Without it, my life is incomplete.
Besides family, good friends, and ClutchFans? Great fiction and non-fiction, great music, great movies, and the invention of the PC and the Net. Oh, and great sex. That's probably #1. My wife would probably say that should fall somewhere under (or on top of) family.
The fact that after going under general anesthesia 6 times this year for an 8-inch bowel resection, 3 'botched' chest surgeries, 1 to correct that, and another this December to remove the bar from the chest, that I am (FINALLY) getting completely healthy for the first time in my life. What I am not thankful for is these mother&*#)@* college essays.
