Just a few reasons why I can't wait for the season to start. Only a month away til training camp! Feel free to list your own. The X-factor: How does McGrady bounce back and reintegrate himself into the team? Star in the making?: Does Brooks emerge as an offensive star? Key free agent aquisition: Can Trevor Ariza become something more than a decent, athletic, defensive-minded role player? Scola watch: Does Luis Scola just keep getting better and better, or did he finally peak? Taking the good with the bad: Upside of no Yao Ming? More Chuck Hayes! (hopefully) The rookies: Can Budinger or Taylor be a significant contributor for us this year? The import: Will the Andersen acquisition remind us of the Scola trade by season's end?
Toss-up between seeing what version of T-Mac we're getting and to see if Brooks can continue to develop.
I'm looking forward to the new style of play that the Rockets will play. I'm obviously not caring about how far we go, whether it is 2nd round, or not making the playoffs at all as that is not thep oint for this season. I see the Rockets being highly entertaining regardless of the fact there are no big superstar names on the roster. This is what I'm looking forward to.
Absolutely, and these kids couldn't have a sweeter opportunity, so let's hope they can take advantage of it!
Mcgrady's return and seeing Ariza in a Rox uni. Also excited about seeing JT/Budinger. It would be perfect if Yao returned at some point for a playoff run!
All our new players - Andersen, Ariza, Jermaine Taylor, Budinger... Scola - I think he can average a solid 18/10 this year as the key post presence Brooks - This season's success depends on his performance
1. Budinger - we need this man to do well so we can fill the offensive holes in the team 2. Tmac - either he comes back strong or he retires, but i wonder if Morey will trade him no matter what 3. Scola - my favorite player, i doubt he will get much better but i do want to see what happens when he gets more shots
How the Rockets look after McGrady is traded. Brooks v Lowry. If Budinger can make any impact as a rookie. If there is any more upside to Scola. Ariza's younger than Brooks. Whispers of All Star potential have been dropped ever since he was drafted by the Knicks. Unlike some other posters, who don't like him as a signing... I think he has time, a couple of years, to try to make any big leaps.
re-match with the Lakers, Mcgrady's return, young guys developing, for some reason Chase..too much to list really. Heck, I'm ready to place my order for Legue pass as soon as I can. (live in phoenix)
I'm looking forward to Joey Dorsey being a beast and getting alot of playing time. I can see teamates just itching to lob it in to him. I really think that this will be his chance to shine and if he doesn't take advantage of it now he wont be wearing red very long. If season sours by all-star break and lottery looks like where we will land: * Bench/limit time to Brooks, Hayes, Battier, Scola, and Mcgraday if the plan is to re-sign him. (personally not too keen on the last part but thats not my decision) * Give ample playing time and development to Landry, Ariza, Anderson, Lowry, Budinger, Dorsey, White, and Taylor. * Ask Brent Barry if he would like a trade to a team in the playoffs or playing time. Its the final year in his contract and he deserves a choice. * Trade Brian Cook for a used Spalding ball or waive him. He is a waste of bench space. If he has to stay, let him sit on the floor and put a big pile of towels in his chair. atleast they do something during the game. You would be better off signing one fan per game to a one day contract to do the same thing he does. The biggest thing I look forward to this season is being 100% healthy for next season. I think of it as the calm before the storm haha
That is what I am most excited about. Last year the Rockets got off to a slow, ugly, inconsistent start, but when Chuck got on the floor he competed and played the game like a man. I never get tired of watching him amaze me with his superhero defense.
I look forward to TMac scoring 25 points a game in the first 10 games and then getting his butt traded for DWade, Joe Johnson, Danny Granger or Kevin Martin.
