For me, no doubter. Cajun turkey and dressing. Nothing else even matters. Pass the ham, pass the potatoes, pass the orange yam crap and whomever makes the green bean casserole nobody ever eats. Turkey/dressing/gravy/sleep.
My mom and I are making seared ahi tuna, stuffed acorn squash, roasted asparagus and brussel sprouts, mushroom risotto, baked sweet potatoes, apple pecan blue cheese salad and cranberry apple crisp. I'm looking forward to alllllll of it.
So is it dressing or stuffing? Seems southerners call is dressing but Yankees call it stuffing. There's an embarrassing argument about this I'm reading on another board.
I don't eat bread or dairy that often, so freshly baked rolls slathered in butter is what does it for me.
Every Thanksgiving and Christmas we always pick up several dozen of those huge buttered rolls from Golden Corral. Say what you want about the GC, but their rolls are pretty epic.
Hosting our first family Thanksgiving tomorrow with my whole family and my wife's whole family. So, needless to say.....I'm really looking forward to the beer...
Never really cared for turkey, I'm taking a stand and cooking steak this year. Add me to the beer crowd as well. A case of Guiness is waiting to be opened.
Turkey coated in a compound butter. Pumpkin Pie. Homemade Cornbread Stuffing. Three Philospher's Belgian ale with dinner and Saint Arnold's Santo during the football. And... PILLOWY MOUNDS OF MASHED PO-TAT-OES. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ALpdZHkOtHE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
