I am graduating on May 28th in Radio City Music Hall with a Bachelors degree in Film, then I am flying to Houston to see my sister graduate from Kingwood High School(Shes going to North Texas in Denton in the fall)

I am going to try to work in children's entertainment here in NYC.

I may try to become a children's talent agent.

what about other posters here, what are your plans for post-graduation?

    graduate school?
    take a break?
    get a job?

and if you are graduating high school, what are your aspirations for post- high school?

I am very proud of reaching this major milestone

    good luck to all

    Congrats, A110S, and good luck.

As for me, I plan on doing exactly what I'm doing now.

Congratulations. Did you also graduate from Kingwood High? I'm a Class of 1993 alumnus myself. Can't believe it's been 10 years this May - I'm old.

I highly advise you get a full-time job. It doesn't even have to be one directly related to your career plan, but it will allow you to get used to a full-time work schedule. It will also help you get used to working with other people who aren't the same age as you.

If you can, save some of the money you earn for grad school, so you won't be as dependent on student loan. If you have already incurred student loans for your undergrad degree, then start paying them off immediately. In fact, pay more than you're required to per month.

At some point, you need to travel. It doesn't matter where, but while you are free of responsibility, you need to see some different places. (This is where I messed up - I was more interested in playing with bands that claimed they would tour but never did).

If you decide to go to grad school, use at least a month to do nothing intellectually. You will need as much mental energy as possible.

    Good luck with your decision.

    Congrats!

BTW, I listen to this song all the time.

Not to hijack the thread, but if perhaps someone could also give me some advice what to do after getting a bunch of graduate degrees, because I still can't make up my mind . It was my last day at my current job today...

I am graduating with a BS in Computer Engineering in about 16 days. As of right now I have no job prospects and no aspirations for grad school. I am thinking of just taking some time off before entering the job market again, since I saved up a good chunk of change from my last couple jobs. Hopefully the economy turns around and the high tech industry turns back to an employees market again. BTW, anybody who knows of any places looking to hire an RCG Computer Engineer who graduated with high honors, let me know.

I graduate from UT with a BS in Chemical Engineering next spring. i don't have an internship this summer (and never have had one) and that will probably make getting a job harder after i graduate. add to the fact that there don't actually seem to be any ChE jobs right now, and that will make it harder. come on economy, turn around more. of course i've never been too fond of doing work so if i take a while to get a job i figure it's no biggie if i end up with one i like that pays well eventually. i've got money from scholarships saved up and i think my parents are giving me a little when i graduate so i'll have a cushion. once i get a job, then i'll actually work hard cuz i wanna get promoted/get raises and make more money as soon as possible so i can retire early and figure out how to not suck at golf so i can play as much as possible.

I have finally decided what I wanna do. After high school, I'm gonna go to college(DUH!) and I wanna work for like a record label, scouting and recruiting bands. That or managing a band. I dunno what I would have to major in though. I guess business.

    I love music!!

Why does every person that retires always turn to golf??, when i retire i will still play what i can, until my knees give out on me or something. I dont like golf so even if i cant do more physical activites i probably wont turn to golf.

Did you ball Sunday night at Gregory with an Indian guy with an HBU shirt? That was me. We were playing 3 on 3, but you left after one game. If it was you, we also played against each other full court Saturday afternoon. I suck :(

Good show! Pun not intended. :p
I think you should take a break... go back-packing in Europe for a few months or something. Do people still do that? Anyway, good luck!

What would I do after hs?

    Well I shall tell all...

I plan to be on Fox News one way or another (the "another" being standing outside the building on my cell phone and make a mockery of a "legitamite" news station during a national crisis; a national crisis on Fox? - Nonstop Elian coverage during his 10th Birthday, Geraldo keeps his job--again, Yuppies CAN be respected, et setera).

Oh yeah, and go to colage to lurn.

    My list:
NYU, Penn, Stanford, Berkeley, and Rice.

HAHAHAHHA juuuuust kidding. Who would go to HOUSTON for college. Worst college town ever!

I hear there's a drug problem in California? That's (FOX) news to me.

Graduating HS May 30. Going to Sam Houston St. next fall, into the Radio-TV program. Plan to major in production.

As far as after college, I'll take a job anywhere I can get it right out of the gate, as in this major there may not be a lot available as soon as I get out. In the long run...I'd probably like to be involved in something with sports, but it's not limited to that.
