I'm having a hard time picking out gifts for my parents, sister, brother and my g/f for x-mas and need some ideas quick. So I ask, what is everyone getting for the peole that you care for? Money is not an issue but I would like to keep it under $200.00 a person.

    Gift cards.

God's gift to the "lazy bachelor who hates to shop" in all of us.

Even better are the internet gift certificates to places like cdnow, Amazon, Barnes and Noble etc. You don't even have to leave your house. And neither does the person you give it to.

I am, however, getting my nephew some new hi-hats for his drum kit that I got him for his birthday. Damn, I'm a good Uncle.

My mother - one of those "seasonal affective disorder lamps" that simulate sunlight. And probably some other little things, not sure what.

"Ferdinand" - some clothing that doesn't have holes in it? :)

In-Laws - probably one of those Internet gift certificates for my mother-in-law. Not sure for my father-in-law. Nor for my brother-in-law (I'll leave that to Ferdinand... they always get "us" presents that are really only for him and not me, so... screw them)

Not many other people I really exchange gifts with. Maybe my grandmother - in that case, she doesn't want stuff cluttering up her house so probably a gift certificate to a restaurant.

Not like I've really thought about it. Christmas shopping? It's not even December yet! :D

I have no idea what I'll get the wife. Usually we just buy ourselves a nice gift together, or go shopping together and pick something out. Yeah I know, it's not much of a surprise but at least we get something we want.

A gift suggestion for the wife:

Give her a gift certificate to a day spa.

Every year, I give my wife a GC to Sunset Body Works downtown for a thorough back massage. I got her a full package once (facial, manicure, pedicure, massage, etc...) but she said she likes the massage most.

I need to start doing this with my wife as well. I spend alot of time and thought into her gifts and I get stuff from her I would NEVER use in return. Last year: She was 7-months pregnant so I got her stuff to help her relax some nights while raising our new kid. I got her a thingy that turns the bath tub into a jacuzzi, a massage pillow to rest her head on in the tub and a special nail kit so she could do her own nails instead of going to a parlor. What did I get? Sunglasses. They were nice mind you, but I never wear sunglasses. Never really have.

We do that to. In fact, this year we already bought and used our present to each other. My wife got a sewing machine, and I got a outdoor deep fryer.

I do gift certificates for the parents. They would return anything I got them anyway, so this way they get what they want. Mom - Foley's...Dad - Lowe's. Done.

What's hard for us is the kids. What do you get teenage boys? Toys? no, too young. Electronics? They have everything now.

    Any ideas?

Isn't one of your kids an aspiring guitar god? Plenty of guitar related stuff you could get him.

Always good to support the musical aspirations of kids.

Tell them to make a list. If they don't, they don't get anything. My Mom still does that to me. :)

Did that already. He's getting a new Alvarez acoustic, a pedal board for his electric, and a double guitar stand.

I need to get off the guitar theme.

My wife's cousin here in New Zealand makes jewelery for a living. For our trip to the states I am hooking up eight different relatives for $NZD 500.00. Considering that some of this stuff would go for $2000 retail by themselves (black pearl necklaces, etc.), I think I am quite lucky. Now all the shopping I have to do in the US is for me, myself and I. Yay!

Everyone is getting fudge LOL. Gift certificates so that they can use them whenever they want and they dont have to worry about eating it all at once. Im putting the fudge in beautiful Texas tins that look like this www.texastinco.com
