15 and 10...top 10 center but not top 2...yet. Dude will play between 25-30 minutes which makes a more then just avg backup center essential.
Dont expect anything less than the best. Whatever is possible through effort and heart is what Yao will deliver
I fully expect Yao to pick up where he left of around 20/10. I know his foot might effect his mobility some, who knows, but it's not like the guy was a run fast jump high player anyway. And if he needs he can always go get a pair of PF Flyers...guaranteed to.....well you know. I'd call him the best center in the league, but the majority will stick pick Howard over him because of Howard's dunking and personality. But that's just my opinion, who really knows what will happen.
I didn't vote because if he isn't healthy, who knows. Even if he is healthy, how long will it take him to fully recover. It seems after every injury he loses something. I just don't think Yao is going to take us to the promised land. I don't even feel confident that he will actually return. He could easily get reinjured in his comeback attempt before the season even starts. The next injury is likely the end of his career. I just don't have a good feeling about Yao; the moment the last injury occurred I had this strong impression that this was the end. I can't shake it. All this talk about him helping us win a championship, building around him, how he will fit with the current players, etc. seems so premature.
Does your pessimistic view often depress yourself? Do you comtemplate suicide multiple times each day? Are you a Cubs fan?
I expect him to die, rise from the dead on the 3rd day go to hell(Utah) and back and win us a championship with his twelve apostles: Aaron Brooks Kyle Lowry Kevin Martin Chase Buddinger Trevor Ariza Shane Battier Amare Stoudemire Greg Monroe David Andersen Chuck Hayes Jermaine Taylor & Rick Adelman
Anyone think the surgery may actually make him more mobile? 2 or 3 years ago he came into the season SO spry, but he quickly lost that quickness and eventually went down with injury. The guy never complains, just plays through injury. If he isn't feeling pain maybe he can move?
sorry to post so much op. My argument although I hope I'm wrong is look at T-Mac ( hope he heals up, both of them)
Dude is already an All-Star starter, thanks to the fans in China. Whether or not he deserves it is still to be seen. I think he'll automatically come back being the best offensive center in the NBA given D Howards inability to make that next step. Howard can still be guarded one on one and be contained due to his lack of footwork and lack of a soft touch. On defense, Howard is clearly superiour, but championships are won on team defense, not individual. Ask Marcus Camby. Bottom line, I think we will see Yao healthy ALL season right around 20 on 55% and 85%, 10, 2, and 2. No improvement, but no decline either. Exactly what we need given the improvements we already have. Can't wait til November.
