So V day is just around the corner. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet for my wife. I guess dinner/flowers etc would be the usual thing to do. Do any of ya'll have plans? Gift ideas?

he's cooking me a nice dinner and i'm gonna make chocolate covered strawberries. going the cheaper route this year. i told him i don't want roses (way too expensive) unless we are apart distance wise.

Roses become inherently better if you two are apart? Very strange.

If you can't be together, it makes perfect sense that having something delivered on that day would make it more special than just being apart. I don't think it's the roses, necessarily. [/DONE SPEAKING FOR RUBYTUESDAY] :)

yes, thank you. that's what i meant. i love red roses but i know they cost like $80 during v-day so there is no need. i don't mind getting them a wk later for a fourth of that cost.

but like last yr when he was away, i got roses sent to me so it's the next best thing if we can't be together.

    Can't afford roses.

I think i'll have pizza delivered instead.

(romance is much cheaper once you've been married more than ten years ;))

haha, true, but i'll bet if you got them for her, she'd LOVE them and appreciate you for it.

    Nope.

    Joint bank accounts.

I used to think this meant the whole world was a 50% off sale....but apparently it doesn't quite work that way.

We will do something special though. Even if it's just a walk around the neighbourhood.

There is always an expectation for a gift, no matter what she tells you...V-Day is overrated and way too expensive...
