I see it everywhere I look nowadays in Houston. I see them on old school Cadillacs and I see them on Honda Accords. I see them on 99 Tahoes and 2007 Corollas.

What the hell are these vents for? I don't get them.

I mean the only car I have seen with them stock are Buicks.

I mean these vents don't make your car look like a Maserati or an M3.

Also is there some hip hop word for them.

I'll tell you what they are - r****ded.

I hear most of them aren't even actual vents, they are just stick on decorations to look like them.

    Pure decoration pretty much.

Funny thing is, they are factory on some Buicks. I've done several claims where Buick owners had these stolen off their cars and next thing you know, they see a supped up Honda Civic driving down the road with them on their fenders.

I think the worst car accessory is the huge spoiler that people put on their Eclipses or Accords.

Now, I'm aware that a spoiler on any factory car is pretty much strictly for decoration. Unless you're going 100 MPH, the downforce provided by a spoiler is nominal, at best. Hell, I had a car that came with a spoiler. At least a factory spoiler blends in with the car. That car above is just plain r****ded looking...

Falls under the same category as spinning rims and blue flourescent lights on your undercarriage.

    It's coolness for losers.

I'm sure many car enthusiasts would disagree. I love the Evo7/8 asthetics, but prefer the STI's reliability/interior. I'm not sure if you know, but that is the factory spoiler on the Mitsubishi Evo. The STi's have a simliar wing, so does the Toyota Supra and Acura ITR. The 99-00 Civic Si had a mid sized wing which was more subdue and less ricey looking which probally appeals to more people.

That Evo spoiler is factory and that car is easily capable of doing those speeds and making that spoiler functional. As far as being functional in a daily commute, I would say Houston roads and freeways wouldn't even allow such a speed.

They are vents or "ultra holes" . They come on Buick Park Avenues and Lucernes......

Well it started in 2004 when black males would put them on their cars to match the chrome wheels (22 or bigger) . In particular, are Buicks, Cadillacs and Old School cars . Since the cool guys were doing it , everyone else started to copy and put it on other cars. For example mustangs , toyotas , and other cars.

Weird, I saw a red Honda with those Lambo doors earlier tonight. A bunch of racer kids were in a HEB parking lot, and this one kid was just sitting by himself and had his door opened. I noticed cause it looked odd, in the middle of the parking lot.

I bet that cost like 1-2K or more to add on. The car was an older Civic, not a new one, and literally looked like it was worth maybe 3K in resell value if stock.
