Mine are pretty simple: snakes and tornadoes. I cringe at the sight of a snake. I also have many dreams about snakes and I can't figure out why! I am very interested in tornadoes and have watched every TV special or video documentary there is to try and learn more about one, but I am terrified of them. Every time it begins to rain, I think a tornado is on its way! I can't seem to shake these fears either. What are some of your fears? ------------------
The Rockets never making the playoffs again. That and falling pianos. I carry an umbrella around just in case. ------------------
Clowns and small enclosed spaces (they don't have to be together. They are both individually terrifying to me). I have trouble riding in elevators, and forget about going to the circus. I'm not a fan of heights, either, but I'm less terrified by heights than the other two things. ------------------ Houston Sports Board
Drowning. I'm not afraid of the water and love swimming, but have a fear of drowning. Go figure. ------------------ President of the Moochie Norris Fan Club - est. 99-00
Sock Puppets , nah I am deathly afraid of Celine Dion Albums ------------------ "Its a good thing they don't make posters of European players" -Walt Williams after getting "posterized" by Zan Tabak .

Disappointing my parents Realizing that I might not be extraordinary Dying without realizing my dreams ------------------ 'Deeds, not words, shall speak me.' [This message has been edited by mc mark (edited January 04, 2001).]
Crowds. I freak out if I'm in a really crowded place, especially if everyone is all jammed together. Things like Mardi Gras or Times Square at New Year would probably land me in the loony bin. I also get really panicked when I feel like I'm trapped somewhere without an easy exit. When I first moved into my current home, the locks on the doors were the kind that you had to have a key to open even from the inside. After several sleepless nights wondering what would happen if I needed to get out and couldn't find the key, I called the locksmith and had them changed so no key was necessary. ------------------ [This message has been edited by rascal (edited January 04, 2001).]
RocketsPimp damn you and me both. I have been a lifeguard for 10 years now. i LOVE the water, I love the ocean, I love all sorts of water. BUT the scariest thing I could ever imagin would be to drown. basically because not only can you think about what is happening while you die, but you can have your eyes open and see what is happening while you die. not to mention the uncomfortable nature of suffocating well have a nice day PEACE ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball http://www.hanta-force.com
Spiders, and a slight case of claustrophobia. What is it with spiders? They look so damn evil. Nothing about them suggests anything you would want to mess with. Their face couldn't be more impersonal, with 8 freaking eyes and those damn mandibles that move up and down in that creep motion that only spiders have mastered. You can't possibly figure out their intention from looking at them, and that scares the hell out of me. ------------------ "Of course, everything looks bad if you remember it!" Homer Simpson
Airplnes - I've been on a bunch of them and I keep feeling like my odds are running out. This has mostly to do with control. I hate not having it. I'd drive across the ocean if I could to avoid an airplane. Ask Clutch about this fear. Heights - Ironic that I live in the Heights part of Houston. I'm not good in high places - tall buildings in particular. Elevators - Whenever my life is feeling out of control, I always have a dream I'm in an elevator and it is falling towards the ground. At one particularly chaotic time in my early 20's, I dreamt that I was in an elevator in a ship that fell all the way through the bottom of the ship and I drowned. Ugh! Obviously, most of these have to do with high places, but each is a slightly different phobia. I hate them all and want to irradicate them one by one. ------------------ The way to use life is to do nothing through acting, The way to use life is to do everything through being. - Lao-Tzu
moe, don't ever mention that again. You brough out one of my worst fears. I'm afraid that I might hear that aweful theme from Titanic again. ------------------
The fear of falling to my death... The kicker is you know its coming, it's gonna be messy, and you might feel it. Obviously, I have a slight fear of heights. It won't stop me from planes or ladders though. No rollercoasters though. ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!
Heights. 5 miles in an airplane is no problem. 5 feet on a ladder, hell no. Weird, huh? ------------------ "Salt Lake City, Utah. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany." --Olaju-Won Kenobi, to young jedi Steve (Fran)'chiseWalker
LOL @ heypartner. I know there are more people here who have fears. C'mon I want to hear what scares you. Maybe your worst fear is to tell everyone your worst fears! ------------------ [This message has been edited by countingcrow (edited January 05, 2001).]
Drowning is actually supposed to be one of the most peaceful ways to die. People who have come close to drowning and were brought back to life all say it was just like going to sleep. ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel boy.
