Last year, I really thought this kid had potential. Now I just changed my mind, I guess he will join those over-hyped "next XX" kids peak just in the first couple of years and then quickly fade away. To become a great player, you need to have a great mind at first. I guess Yao Ming's media exposure and focus really hurt his ego, and it just hinder his development. Well, I blame the media, all those coming MJ or Magic or Dream just destroyed too many kids with bright futures. I am sick to see so many players just try to act instead of playing a fundamental game.

Well, which is it Amare? Did Yao get a lot of easy buckets, or did you play hard defense against him. I always thought one of the reasons a player could get easy buckets was because the defense was soft like stove-top butter. Well, there is a reason why Sun is still dead last in the West. If he is so good, phx at least shouldnt be the last. Well, one poster in the game thread Yao needs to elbow him to get repect in the league. I dont think Stoudmare is going to get respect ever, no matter how many dunks he has, if the he doesnt turn things around there. Brad Miller has much more respect than Elton Brand at this point.

Let me do a little interpretation work here. Amare: My teammates sucked. They let Yao have a lot of easy baskets. But I did a pretty good job when I was guarding him.

Amare is a good young player and has a chance to be great, but he's no Yao Ming. He may get the flashy dunks, but you can't win with him as your No.1 option. Just look at it this way: every single GM (including the Suns') in the league would take Yao over Amare any day of the week.
He seemed frustrated hoisting up all those misses when Yao was on him. He means that he could do better if he was 7-4 while having his skills.
