So next year.. is this organization gonna have the Red Rowdies agian, even if JVG isnt here next year???? that would be a huge blow to our home court if we didnt have them... they provided a lot of energy in the buildin and made the games entertaining...

it was initially an idea that came out of the Rockets PR office. JVG liked the idea and got involved later on.

Yeah, but didn't he immediately buy 50% more seats? JVG must get credit for that no matter if I think it made Les look bad.

Les: "You're making the team more hard to market."

JVG: "You did know who I was before you hired me, right? Fine, I'll increase your attendance in a way that well help the team."

JVG is not a dull boy. His boy Thibodeaux really scares me though.

the red rowdies are about as rowdy as Bob Dole's Bannana without Viagra. Seriously, one "Utah Sucks" chant, maybe 4 MVP chants. Frick, even Baron Davis recieved more than that in GS, and that team isn't even close to us. We need to import some fans, I say we get Adelman to bring down some of the good ol' Sactown fans when he takes over this team!

Does it really make a difference? I could barely hear them during game 7 on TV. Compare our fans to Golden State...man...you can feel the energy...they are so loud. If Golden State had fans like our Dallas might have won! We need fans like GS has to pump up our player more.

Seriously? Are you out of your mind? Or did you not go to any games and still think you are an authority? The Rowdies were incredible. They never stopped, never sat down. They were very loud, and they were really creative. They really made the Toyota Center fun.

Not much to cheer about when your down 16 in the first half at home in a game 7. The Rockets killed the crowd as much as anything. The rowdies were pretty effective, if anything they should get tickets closer to the opponents bench. But to answer the original question, I doubt there will be as many, if any red rowdies if Jeff is gone unless the new coach or a player picks up their tab.

God, now we are calling out the Red Rowdies.....

Keep saying this every other day....

    A new low.

All the games I went to this year were much louder because of them and game 1 and 7 of the playoff was just about the loudest I've ever heard the Toyota Center, ever.

I've been to playoff games vs the Lakers a few years back and the Mavs in 05 and it was never as loud as it was this year.

another of those "i didn't hear them on TV" post

seriously, we have people FROM OUT OF TOWN that come to the games and give their full support for the Rowdies including GRENDAL from Dallas, The_Yoyo from LA, and Sirshir Chang from Minnesota and they'll endorse their love for the Rowdies

these "i dont hear them on TV" are a bunch of wussies that only care about what they here on TV and dont GO TO A SINGLE FREAKING GAME.

WE ARE NOT OAKLAND, WE ARE A CITY THAT ACTUALLY HAS SOMETHING TO DO IN THEIR TOWN. WE ARE NOT A BANDWAGON CITY, wait in some cases yes, but dear god, stop comparing us to other towns. Do u see SA's crowd as pumped? Hell they have 3 championships and their fans are as boring as White Sox fan at a Cubs game. What about Detroit? Cleveland? Nothing, just a normal crowd with a playoff type atmosphere in which I experienced at all 4 games this year.

I think they were amazing and the few games I went to, I could hear them loud and clear.

I hope the organization keeps them together, but moves them to the back row where no one is sitting behind them.

People that only watch on their couch and have the nerve to gripe about a group of diehards that attended all 45 home games plus an away game in SA, standing and chanting the whole way through and helping the Toyota Center be energetic for the first time in its existence...wow. Go back to playing your world of warcraft and running your mouth.

The commitment they showed all season and in the playoffs was outstanding. Some of you would never know, but getting yourself downtown and attending 3+ games a week is a lot more draining than you'd think - they aren't just sitting down, drinking a beer, and grumbling during the game like you do.

Step up and show up if you want to talk.

When I purchase my ticket package for next year in a couple months, I hope to keep my seats in their section, and I hope more actual fans join in.

I went to 15 regular season games and every playoff game and they were very loud every game. Let's not forget, they're a group of less than 100 in an arena of 16-17,000. They can yell their lungs out and if everyone else sits on their hands, you won't hear it on TV.

In big games against the Spurs, Lakers, Suns, or playoffs, the entire arena was pretty loud and into it but during those games against the Bobcats, Celtics and others that had lots of empty seats, the Rowdies were the only thing that kept the place from being able to hear a pin drop.

    Get off the Rowdies back.

Are you kidding? I watched almost every game on LP, using a DVR if I couldn't be there, and they made a BIG difference. A BIG difference. Honestly, I don't know where you're coming from with that.

They better be back next season, and increased, if anything. The TC was better for it, and the team was sure as hell better for it.

those guys were amazing, the crowd may not have come through on the national tv broadcast because tnt/espn tends to drown out crowd noise like crazy so people like you not at the game can hear. game 1 was amazingly loud this year, game 2 was good not like game 1. game 7 the second half i could tell was loud but not feeding through their sound. honestly if you think its GS was really loud it could be tnt was mic'ing their crowd somewhat. it made for better tv, a huge underdog pulling of a major upset, hearing all their fans going nuts. tonights game against the jazz will be loud but i dont think you'll hear it as much as the dallas game.

leave the rowdies as be, they were the last of the rockets woes this season, probably the only consistent bright spot.

my only complaint about the rowdies? too few of them and too far away from the court, move them closer so people can see them on tv more often and get the lower lower bowl "rockin" the upper seats at most stadiums are usually loud but the sound wont carry down. Judging from the design of the TC i dont think the sound will carry as well as it does like in Staples Center.

Credit where it's due: GS, Utah, and Tor have had, by far, the loudest fans in the postseason. We went from being a historic C- crowd to a B. GS arguably had the greatest frenzy of a crowd since the 80s Boston Garden faithful.
