I have really been down lately about the Rockets need for an inside presence. I thought the Rockets would pick up Loren Woods or Brenden Haywood last summer but they didn't. I thought there was a chance to pick up Webber or Antonio Davis on the free agent market, didn't happen. Then I was teased with Marc Jackson, too sad. Then I'm watching the Sacramento game and I see KT playing his heart out and it hits me. Play Mo at 5, KT at 4 (though I think his game is more suited for the 3), and Eddie at 3 (his body will fill out and eventually he'll be able to play the 4). I know Mo will never be mistaken for Shaq, but he does have a legit NBA body. At 6'9" 260 his is bigger and more athletic than Ben Wallace or Antonio Davis, two undersized guys that held their own at center, and don't forget about Wes Unseld. I know Mo will never average double figures in rebounds but when Eddies matures into the star he is destined to be, he will not have to. Cato is not a basketball player, it is not his fault, but he is just lost and will never be able to replace Dream, but who could replace Dream the man is a legend.
Several problems here. Rudy is only playing Eddie Griffin at the 4/5. Griffin has said that he does not to play the 3. By always playing the 4/5 Eddie will more block chances on the D end. MoTay lost weight going into this season. His weight was supposedly closer to 240 than 260. Unfortunately, KT, EG, and MoTay can only play significant minutes at the 4. KT will likely be traded, this offseason. EG and MoTay will likely split minutes at the 4, starting nest season. EG will see some limited minutes at the 5, depending on the matchup (ie how good/big the opponent's backup 5 is).
