Hill and Battier shined tonight, but Lowry did a great job keeping us in the game. He made a couple of BIG 3 point shots to keep us close with the Lakers. He also had 10 assist tonight, and he played absolutely solid defence on the Lakers guards. Fisher, Blake and Brown were irrelevant tonight. Things will get interesting when Brooks comes back. I think Lowry has proven himself a capable starter.
Definitely leaves us with a PG problem, Ish is too good to ride the pine, but Lowry has been playing great and AB is our playmaker.
Lowry's passing over the last 7 games has been amazing. Averaging over 9 assists and less than 2 turnovers over that span. He was 9th in assist ratio in the NBA before this game. Ish isn't getting any minutes when AB comes back.
Nice to see Kyle hitting those 3 balls, we need that. 10 assists too....heck the entire team does better when we hit our 3s...the shots have been there all year, just not the makes. DD
Hai Lowery! I guess Lowry felt threatened by Ish's rising stock. I still think Ishmael is a better pass-first point guard. I believe Ish will be a GREAT point guard once he gets a few years more experience under his belt, as well as develop a shot.
Are those who critcised the idea of trading AB now on board with it? He is expendable plus he has high trade value and we can get a lot out of him in a trade. It's a tough call, some fans have already thought it is best to develop our youth and tank, but at the end of the day, we can turn this season around and still pick up NY's draft pick.
Lowry played great tonight. I do not mind his lack of scoring when we have so many other player scoring so well, im pretty much giving what wouldve been AB's points to Battier. On a team with alot of firepower, Lowry could be a solid starter..
AB is a SCORER not a PLAYMAKER. Playmaker is someone who makes creates plays for the team in the flow of offense. Ish is a playmaker. Lowry is a playmaker. AB is purely a shooter and scorer who passes when he can't get his.
As good as Aaron Brooks is, and also being a HEAVY Aaron Brooks fan, I do think he has hit his ceiling. He's just too undersized... if we can get good picks or a good player in return for Brooks, I'd be all for it.
I like Ish Smith, but Lowry also has the added advantage of being a really good defender and rebounder.
No. Still not on board. AB brings a different aspect to the game that neither Kyle nor Ish have...scoring. Also, NY has a better record and have played better more consistently.
The video really focuses on Lowry's uncanny ability to shoot fireworks from his boobs. I'm glad he's finally getting recognized for that.
AB is NOT expendable. I'm not necessarily opposed to trading him, as long as we get a baller in return. This team has been sorely missing his scoring ability, as KMart seems to be the only out there at times who can hit a three. If AB was healthy, I'd say we'd have 2-3 more wins than we have now.
I would like to know if we can get a three team deal going with sac and another team (like the 76er's, maybe). We might be able to unload a PG and JJ.
If Lowry continues to play like this while AB is out, I don't think we'll need both of them IMO. Ish has proved to be a good backup in limited minutes as well as one start if I remember correctly. Even though the other teams in the west seem to be stronger this year, we shouldn't tank like some have suggested and just play it out one more season before we actually decide on the future direction of the team, especially Yao.
Yep, Lowry does everything else well besides shooting. Lowry is able to hit shots when his feet is set, but he lacks confidence. Lowry could become a decent shooter, he still has a lot of time to develop. Today's game however, Lowry made a LOT of crucial plays. I'm going to steal's Clutch's vid. At about the 13 second mark, Lowry deferred to Battier for the 3. At about the 30 second mark, Lowry went straight to Battier again for another 3. At about the 1.21 mark, the most crucial moment in the whole game in my opinion, Scola flops. Lowry made a crucial switch to Odom, then right back to Fisher, forcing him to lose control of the ball. The Lakers end up with a 24 second clock violation. At about the 1.55 mark, Lowry went straight back to Battier before Battier drew a foul. Basically, in the last few minutes of the game. It has all been Hill, Battier and Lowry.
